Prince Andrew took ironing board on trade mission visit, says ex-diplomat

Prince Andrew stunned diplomats by taking an ironing board on a trade mission.

Former diplomat Simon Wilson told how Andrew bungled in Bahrain in 2002 when he was Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.

Mr Wilson said: “Prince Andrew always brought a large entourage with him. A private secretary, an equerry, a valet, a lady clerk and a business adviser. We were shocked when a 6ft ironing board was trying to be negotiated into one of the embassy cars.
