Prince Andrew's holiday plans ruined as King Charles takes holiday home away from him

Prince Andrew’s holiday plans are reportedly in ruins after he refused to give up his Windsor mansion.

Andrew often enjoys two weeks of summer away in Balmoral, a popular choice for the royal family, but reportedly King Charles III has decided to keep the estate open to the public for a further two weeks.

The Duke of York used to spend time at the estate with his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and would take his daughters and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who is recovering from breast cancer.

However, as the Mirror reports, this year it will be open to the public until August 16 and the King is likely to stay at his Balmoral Estate home until the castle closes to tourists.

The decision is said to bring in extra income but it would mean Andrew's holiday plans would be disrupted.

It comes after claims King Charles had plans to kick Prince Andrew from his Royal Lodge home in Windsor - however, sources say the Duke of York will be allowed to remain in the property while Sarah Ferguson recovers from breast cancer surgery.

The cancer was discovered while she went for a routine mammogram test.

A spokesman for the Duchess said: "Sarah, Duchess of York was recently diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer detected at a routine mammogram screening. She was advised she needed to undergo surgery which has taken place successfully."
