Prince Andrew’s ex Lady Victoria Hervey says Epstein is alive, mocks those not in files: “You were a loser”

British-born socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, has recently made some shocking claims about convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the files of his associations, released by the Department of Justice on January 30, 2026. Hervey, who has been named in the Epstein files and formerly dated disgraced Royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was surprisingly calm in being associated with Epstein. The 49-year-old claimed that anyone who didn't appear in the files was "a bit of a loser" while also adding that she believed Epstein was alive in "Israel."

Prince Andrew is "a guy" who "needs to date"

Lady Hervey has been mentioned in the Epstein files 23 times. When asked about her name in the files, she responded: "Well, of course I am. Because it's any journalist who wrote about it." From Prince Andrew to Donald Trump, she defended everyone mentioned or associated with the files in an interview with LBC Radio.

While the former Duke of York has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, the latest release of the files included a picture of him crouched over an unidentified woman. Furthermore, his name has been mentioned in the files 173 times.

As per Hervey, Andrew is "a guy" who "needs to date." "It's very hard for anyone to kind of try and imagine being in his shoes. But he's a male, he's single, he needs to date. He's not going to be sitting in a monastery his whole life," she said while adding that Andrew "trusted" Jeffrey Epstein.

"They'd known each other for a long time at this point and he sort of thought, okay, well, he knows beautiful women and, you know, there's like so many other people out there and no one's talking about it."

Lady Hervey defends Epstein's associates

When asked about Trump's mention in the files, she claimed the President had "cut his ties with Epstein very, very early on."

"You know, the thing is, what people can see from these Epstein files, he was. He knew everybody that was very powerful."

"So, if you were on the scene and you were powerful, to be honest, if you're not in those files, it would be an insult because it just means that you were a bit of a loser," she added.

Taken aback, the interviewer questioned: "Right, so the people who aren't in the files are losers?" Treating the matter lightly, Lady Hervey chuckled and answered: "Yes!"

Jeffrey Epstein is not dead?

Another astonishing part of the interview was Lady Hervey's insistence on Epstein being alive. She pointed out a document in the files that mentions a prison guard who posted anonymously on 4Chan shortly before Epstein's death was made public in 2019. The guard claimed Epstein had been “switched out” and taken away in a “trip van.”

"I think, just, I'd seen one of those emails, one of the ones that ended up in the files, and I think that prison guard needs to be interviewed. The one that he said he saw the bodies being switched out," she said.

When prodded on where Epstein could be now, she answered: "Israel."

Epstein files and Lady Victoria Hervey

As per Vanity Fair, Lady Hervey's relationship to Epstein dates back to the 2000s when she was friendly with Ghislaine Maxwell, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who is also mentioned in the files.

In 2019, she claimed to have been invited to live in an Epstein-owned apartment in the early 2000s. “I actually didn’t come across any of the other girls staying at the apartments but I felt uncomfortable staying there,” she told Good Morning Britain. “I cut my trip short and felt I was being watched; like there were hidden cameras, and I left after about 10 days and moved in with a friend of mine. But even before I knew anything that’s come out since, I felt it.”

Despite this, she has posted online to exonerate the royal who has since been stripped of his titles and also Maxwell, who has been convicted of child sex trafficking and other offences in connection with Epstein.

As for Epstein, the financier and child sex offender died in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while waiting for trial on sex-trafficking charges. The official ruling was suicide by hanging.
