Prince Andrew allowed to stay in Royal Lodge at Windsor as Queen 'made plans for him'

It's very unlikely that Prince Andrew will be booted out of his house in Windsor after the Queen made plans for him well before her death last month.

According to the Mirror's Royal Editor Russell Myers, Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will be allowed to stay in the Royal Lodge in Windsor, as he spoke on the The Royal Beat podcast.

The home, which belonged to the Queen Mother, dates back to the 17th century.

Mr Myers said the Queen will also have "looked after" her son Andrew in terms of money, as there has been "discussion" about his finances and lifestyle following the monarch's death.

He added: " There's been a lot of discussion about where Andrew's money will come from, how he will finance his lifestyle, but the Queen will have looked after him."

The podcast panel also included The Sunday Times' Royal Editor Roya Nikkhah and The Sun's Royal Photographer Arthur Edwards.

Guests discussed King Charles' coronation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, as well as the role of Princess Anne and Sophie Wessex within the Royal Family.

Royal Lodge was leased to Prince Andrew following the Queen Mother's death.

Along with the main house, the lease included the Gardener's Cottage, the Chapel Lodge, six Lodge Cottages, police security accommodation and a whopping 40 hectares of land.

He was required to pay for any renovations himself, which reportedly were in the region of £7.5million.

In 2004, he then moved into Royal Lodge with his two daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and soon after so did his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

It comes after a programme aired in the US this month described Andrew as a "spoiled", "a bully" and "an idiot".

Royal experts discussed the Duke of York's friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in the film 'Prince Andrew: Banished', aired on US channel Peacock.

In the documentary, the 62-year-old was also described as "the runt of a litter" and a "horrible person".
