Prime Minister Boris Johnson will resign today. Reports from the BBC suggest Mr Johnson will resign as Conservative Party leader.
Mr Johnson, who was elected with 66% of the votes, has decided to resign following a spate of ministerial resignations. The PM has spoken to Tory 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady and agreed to stand down, with a new Tory leader set to be in place by the party conference in October, a No 10 source said.
