Primark website CRASHES as retailer allows online orders for first time ever

Earlier today, high street giant Primark sent shoppers overboard as it allowed people to order items for the first time ever. For years, shoppers have been begging Primark to offer a service that allows them to buy clothes without having to battle large herds of people in store - particularly in the run-up to Christmas.

While Primark isn't yet allowing shoppers to purchase items and have them delivered to their homes, it is now letting customers try out a click and collect service in 25 of its stores. Unsurprisingly, the service has already proven incredibly popular.

In fact, Primark's click-and-collect service has excited shoppers so much, its website has crashed. We can't say we're overly surprised.

Some shoppers reported an error screen when trying to access the Primark website this morning. Primark told the BBC it was aware some people had been having trouble accessing its website. "We're working hard to address this to ensure that everyone can access and browse the site easily," the company said in a statement.

It comes after the fashion giant started offering click and collect for the first time ever across 25 stores, located across the North West of England, Yorkshire and North Wales. The click and collect trial will only include kids toys, clothing and nursery ranges - so for now, you won't be able to order other ranges, like womenswear and homeware for pick up.

Around 2,000 products are available to click and collect - including around 800 that will be exclusive to the service.
