Primark has issued a statement after installing new signage outside its changing rooms. The fashion retailer giant has explained why 'women only' signs have been put up in their stores.
One of the signs was also spotted in Nottingham, inside the store located off Old Market Square, on Long Row. A permanent sign reading "These fitting rooms are for women only. We also have Any Gender fitting rooms available for everyone - please ask" was seen on Thursday, March 23.
Primark went on to clarify that the new sign has only replaced the temporary signage, and this is not a new change in policy. In a statement for Nottinghamshire Live, the retailer said: "Last September we announced some changes to the fitting rooms in all of our UK stores.

"This included the introduction of a women-only fitting room area as well as the any gender fitting room area – this has been operational in all UK stores since October. The temporary signage has recently been replaced with permanent signage, but the fitting rooms continue to run as they have done since October."
