Primark shoppers praise £9 sandals that are a 'dupe' of £65 designer version

With spring on the horizon, Primark is currently selling a "dupe" of the popular Birkenstock sandals - and shoppers are loving their selection of colours.

The high street retailer is popular is known for its affordable prices and bargain hunters have shared the latest find was spotted by a social media account @galslovehighstreet. The page boasts 200k followers and shares "the best women's high street fashion and beauty".

In an Instagram video showing them in several shades, the clip's caption read: “The Birkenstock dupes are back in Primark! Loving the silver ones, let us know your fave in the comments.”

Primark's version cost just £9 a pair a £56 save as a pair of Birkenstock Arizona sandals would cost you £65 on their website, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The sandals have two buckled straps that go across the feet, are available in either leather or suede and come in several colours including black, silver, pink and nude.

Followers of the page rushed to share their excitement in the comments. “OMG probably black and pink. Summer 23 DONE!!, wrote one eager fan.

A second added: “Was going to treat myself this year to a real pair of birks, but might just buy one of each colour of these instead!” Another shopper said they got two pairs last year and “wore them to death last summer.”

Others are loving the colours of the sandals as one commented: “Just bought these in black, brown and silver.” While another said: “Silver and pink please.”

The sandals are available in-store only as they are not yet available on Primark's website that offers click and collect ordering.

Shoppers previously praised the retailer for selling stylish trainers that are "identical" to the New Balance 725 shoes. Primark's version cost £16, a fraction of the price of the brand's £77 price tag as sold on NewBalance.co.uk.
