With the weather warming up over the past few weeks, summer dress season is officially here and people are pulling out their favourites from the back of their wardrobes. Shops have upped their game too to match the demand for cooler clothing, and many high street brands are impressing with their summer ranges.
Popular high street store Primark has become known for its 'dupes' over the last few months, releasing affordable takes on designer looks, and their summer collection has been no different. From dupes of popular Zara dresses to sandals that are almost identical to Birkenstocks, they have much to offer their customers. But one dress has really caught the eyes of shoppers recently, which is said to be a dupe of expensive brand Skims, co-founded by Kim Kardashian.
Primark’s 'jersey midi dress' costs just £7 and is described on its website as follows: “Fashioned with a scoop neckline, a sleeveless design and midi fit, this dress is a must-have this season…and the next! Pair it with absolutely anything from an oversized blazer and some killer heels on a night out, to a crop denim jacket and classic trainers for walks at the park! What’s not to love? Available in various colourways, we suggest you grab one of each before they’re all gone!”

The Skims version costs £68 but does come in five different colours and sizes range from XXS to 4X. It's described on the Skims website as: “This obsession-worthy mini dress comes in a lightweight, stretchy ribbed fabric that hugs the body in all the best ways. Perfect to elevate your loungewear or wear out and about. Features thick straps, a mini length, and a front scoop neckline. Fits true to size.”
While the Skims dress is slightly shorter than Primark’s offering, the appearance is very similar and it seems to have an almost identical fit. Shoppers have taken to TikTok to share the ‘must-have’ dress with others, telling them to run fast to get it.
One TikToker captioned her post: “Girlies don't walk run to Primark this dress is £7 skims dupe,” while a second just said: “Skims DUUUUPE.”
