Primark's website CRASHES after fashion giant finally launches click and collect service

Primark’s website crashed this morning after the high street retailer finally launched its new click and collect service.

Some customers were unable to shop online following huge demand, with the website showing an error screen.

One message read: "Site Unavailable. Oops, sorry we didn’t let you access Primark.com today."

Primark told The Mirror it was aware some people had been having trouble accessing its website earlier today. It appears to be up and running again now.

The new click and collect service went live today across 25 stores, located in the North West of England, Yorkshire and North Wales.

The trial will only include kids toys, clothing and nursery ranges - so for now, you won't be able to order other ranges, like womenswear and homeware for pick up.

Around 2,000 products are available to click and collect - including around 800 that will be exclusive to the service.

The new service is free to use but there is a minimum order spend of £15. There is also free returns available if you need to take an item back.

But shoppers still can’t order products for home delivery online - despite pleas for the fashion chain to add this as an option.

Kari Rodgers, Primark UK retail director, said earlier today: “We're thrilled that customers across North West England, parts of Yorkshire and North Wales, will soon be the first in the country to get the chance to try out our new click and collect offer.

“From launch, they’ll be able to browse and buy from our extensive range of kids clothing and nursery products, from the comfort of their own home, before coming to collect from one of our chosen 25 stores.”
