Primark's £5 foundation praised as 'a real hidden gem'

Primark has released a foundation which an Instagram account claims is similar to a high end make-up brand.

Primark, which is hugely popular in Liverpool, has become known for its designer dupes in recent years, often selling alternative versions to high-end products for much less.

The foundation was shared to @dupeshopbeauty‘s 234k Instagram followers yesterday and has racked up thousands of likes already. The account shares its findings of different dupe items within the beauty industry.

The video was captioned: “A real hidden GEM”. In the video it said: “OH MY GOD!! You need to keep watching to see what I found inside Primark.

“This absolute BARGAIN is NO different to the cult-favourite Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. Watch me prove it on my skin and in the shower. The cover and texture is EXACTLY THE SAME but it’s £5 and it wears JUST AS LONG AS ESTEE LAUDER!”

The product description read: “Available in a plethora of hues to help you find your perfect match, this is an ideal foundation for oily skin types thanks to its matte formulation. It’s designed to offer a buildable medium to full coverage that seamlessly blends into the skin to blur imperfections, while aiming to achieve all day wear for a look that remains fresh from day to night.

“This makeup is more than meets the surface though — with an infusion of skin care ingredients like hyaluronic acid, which promotes a hydrated and moisturised visage, and the addition of SPF 15, which helps guard skin against the sun’s harmful rays, this full coverage foundation seeks to support the complexion alongside creating a base for the rest of your makeup.”

The PS… My Perfect Colour Double Coverage Matte Foundation is priced at £5 whereas the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is priced at £38.50. This means you would save £32.50 if you opted for the Primark version.
