Primark's £20 denim jacket that's 'almost identical' to £36 Zara version

Primark has released a washed blue denim jacket that is said to be a ‘dupe’ of a Zara version.

You know summertime is approaching when shops start to bring out denim jackets. Primark has released a washed blue denim jacket and shoppers are saying they prefer it to the Zara version.

Everybody loves a bargain, and Primark especially is known for its affordable prices and its own versions from expensive brands. A video was posted on Instagram by galslovehighstreet, an account that shares ‘the best women's high street fashion and beauty’.

The post was captioned: “Okay granted the @primark one look doesn’t look great in the cut out but it’s almost identical - I’ve got the Zara and when I saw it in Primark I was fuming could have saved myself £15.99! Swipe to see the Primark version in store”.

The first slide of the post shows both the nearly identical Zara and Primark denim jackets side by side, followed by a video of the Primark denim jacket in store. The Primark product description read: “Night out? Denim jacket! Dinner date? Denim jacket! Afternoon strolls? Denim jacket!

“This is the most versatile jacket you’ll ever lay your hands on! Fashioned with pockets, a classic collar, cropped fit and denim finish, this jacket is the ultimate life saver, no matter the occasion! What’s not to love? Go all out with a little black dress and embellished heels or keep it casual with a graphic tee and mom jeans! Whatever the style assignment, this jacket has you covered!”

When comparing the jackets, they are nearly identical, even down to the same detailed stitching on the front of the jackets. The only slight difference seems to be, the Zara jacket looks like a slightly paler washed denim than the Primark version.

The Primark Cropped Denim Jacket is priced at £20, whereas the Zara TRF Denim Cropped Jacket would set you back £35.99. This means you would save £15.99 by opting for the Primark version.

Many shoppers were quick to comment that they actually prefer the Primark jacket over the more expensive Zara version as one said: “I got both and sent the Zara one back much preferred the quality of the Primark one and the fit of it x.” Another excited shopper added: “Literally just bought the Primark one today.”
