Primark releases "bold" retro summer clothes and shoppers are divided

Primark has unveiled a new line of bright clothing ahead of the summer, and many shoppers have been quick to praise the "bold" items — though others aren't a fan.

The bargain giant has started selling retro-style products such as shirts, trousers, dresses, and skirts, that are reminiscent of 60s era clothes.

The bright items come in vivid colours like orange, pink, and red, and have prompted intense feedback from customers.

Taking to their official Facebook page to share news of the new products, Primark wrote: "Bold colours have landed in-store."

Before long, their post attracted more than 3,400 likes and over 1,000 comments from fans sharing their thoughts.

One said: "Well I'm a grandma who grew up with the psychedelic colours of the 60s and I loved wearing them aged 16, 17 and 18. Better than the miserable browns and oranges that followed in the 70s."

A second agreed: "I'm loving all the bright colours at the moment. I'm 39 years old and wearing baby t shirts cut out dresses and I'm loving it."

"Mad how fashions comes back around," wrote a third.

"Summer fun fashion," a fourth simply said, while a fifth commented: "I want everything".

Meanwhile, a sixth shared: "Well I'm loving all the bold colours in Primark at the moment, understand its not to everyone's taste but I've bought loaddsss, I'm 58 and yes I will be wearing most of what they have in the shop just now, admittedly mostly on holiday, but yeah totally loving it."

A seventh echoed: "No, I wouldn't wear these now but it's so lovely to see the youngsters sporting a bit of colour. So much misery in the world it's uplifting."

However, many other shoppers were equally as passionate in their dislike of the bold and bright clothing, with one commenting: "You couldn't pay me to dress like that."

A second posted: "This stuff is just awful! I know fashion goes around and around but those of us that wore it first time round were a lot younger and now it’s bloody awful."

A third revealed: "Walking into Primark is an absolute sensory nightmare at the moment. So many neon colours. Very difficult for people with sensory issues."

A fourth echoed: "Went into Primark yesterday, the colours are too loud for me! Haha, it's great for the younger ones though, I'll stay with boring black."

"Sorry but No not my taste I’m sure some people will like it," stated a fifth.
