Primark has made a promise to parents who shop there to freeze prices on a number of children’s products in a bid to help struggling shoppers as fuel and food prices rise. The fashion retailer has pledged to protect the prices of more than a thousand products, including uniform essentials.
The high street retailer is hoping the move will help family finances go further and many are struggling to stretch their pay packets.
Among the products which will see low prices locked in are long sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts, dresses and jeans, as well as jackets, briefs and packs of 10 socks.

Prices will be frozen at as little as £1.80 for a t-shirt and £2.80 for socks, working out at 28p per pair.
The pledge to freeze prices across many of its kids’ lines comes in response to the increasing pressure felt by households up and down the country, with prices promising to stay fixed until autumn.
Paul Marchant, Primark Chief Executive, said: “Offering the very best value on the high street has always been at the heart of our brand, and is more important than ever today. Kids grow fast, and replacing their clothing is an essential task for families – we hope that by protecting the prices on our essential kids’ items we can help in some small way.”
The commitment to protect prices will mean families can pick up the following essentials ready for the new term:
-
Long sleeve T-shirt: from £1.80
-
Sweatshirt : from £4.00
-
Dresses : from £4.50
-
Jeans : from £6.00
-
Padded Jacket: from £14
-
Briefs : from £3.50 for a 10 pack
-
Socks: from £2.80 for a 10 pack
Many of the products under the price freeze are part of the Primark Cares range, meaning they are made from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials. This includes the long sleeve kids’ t-shirt and jeans, which are made with cotton from the Primark Sustainable Cotton Programme. The programme trains farmers to grow cotton using more sustainable farming methods, which helps to reduce environmental impact and improves their livelihoods.
