Valentine's Day is just around the corner and Primark has shared photos of its themed range of homeware, nightwear and other products ahead of the occasion. However, some shoppers have criticised its placement in shops and have suggested alternative ways to make it less 'all about women'.
Sharing photos of the new range to its Instagram account this week, the high street giant wrote: "From gifting to homeware, to lingerie and cute PJ's, we've got Valentine's covered in-store", alongside the hashtag #InStoreNow. While some shoppers were complimenting how good the shop in the photos looked, others were critical.
One shopper commented: "Where are the man's Valentines preparation kits and clothes?" While another dubbed the photos "quite sexist" adding: "All in the ladies department like we have to be the ones who wear all the fancy underwear and little pj sets! What about men?!"

The comment received several replies from fellow shoppers sharing their thoughts on the debate. One countered: "Because it's meant to be sexy for the men, nothing sexist more women just like to look good for their man for bed nothing wrong with that." Another commenter said that there wasn't "much you can do with boxers" adding that "a lot of men won't wear heart print underwear or lipstick print" so it would just "be a waste".
On the topic of underwear, some shoppers also shared their frustration around sizing more generally at Primark. One customer wrote: "Start making underwear, especially bras, in larger sizes! Those of us that need parachutes struggle to find affordable underwear in stores anymore."
A second said: "Shame none of this will fit plus size, women with bigger bra sizes and clothes sizes can never feel "sexy" for Valentine's Day when they can't get gorgeous things like this." While a third simply said: "Let's hope you have accounted for the fuller figure Primark!"
Among messages from other shoppers sharing their love for the new holiday range, there was one comment concerning something else entirely - the weather. They wrote: "Too cold for this gear. Sticking with my onesie!"
