According to our friends at ticketIQ, the average ticket price on the secondary market is $1,034. The cheapest get-in ticket is currently listed at $536. The most expensive ticket that you’ll find listed is $5,901. The most expensive ticket sold so far was section 119 Row 2 at the 50 yard line, which went for $8512.
The get-in price is lower than it was in 2020, mainly because the conference championship game saw reduced capacity crowds amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Those get-in tickets for the Chiefs-Bills AFC championship game in 2020 reached $883 with crowds of around 17,000.
The last full capacity AFC championship game was the Chiefs’ thrilling win over the Tennessee Titans in the 2019-20 playoffs. The get-in ticket prices on the secondary market for those games were just $227. That means that the get-in ticket prices for the upcoming game against the Bengals have more than doubled since the last full capacity AFC championship game.
Going back to the first AFC championship game the team ever hosted against the New England Patriots in the 2018-19 season, get-in tickets were just $165. Those tickets were nearly a fourth of the price than the current tickets against the Bengals.
Based on ticketIQ’s tracking, the prices for this AFC title game have increased as much as 70% since just before kickoff for the Chiefs-Bills divisional round game on Sunday. They currently have this game ranked as the fourth-most expensive conference championship game since 2011.
Historically, ticket prices dip later in the week, but that didn’t happen last season. With prices higher than they’ve ever been with full capacity crowds, don’t expect those prices to decline by much as we inch closer towards Sunday.
