GWS interim coach Mark McVeigh will continue to work on harnessing Braydon Preuss' aggression to ensure the ruckman spends more time on the AFL field.
Preuss is out of the Giants' clash with Collingwood on Sunday after he was handed a one-match suspension for a dangerous tackle on Western Bulldogs opponent Tim English.
It is the third time Preuss has been banned this year, following penalties for striking Fremantle's David Mundy and a dangerous tackle on Magpies ruckman Brodie Grundy.
Matt Flynn (quad) is also sidelined, leaving McVeigh to find a makeshift ruck combination to take on in-form Collingwood pair Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox.
Lachlan Keeffe filled in when Preuss was substituted out of last week's loss to the Bulldogs because of an ankle injury, with Harry Himmelberg and Zach Sproule helping out.
Kieren Briggs hasn't played at senior level this year but is available after overcoming illness.
McVeigh admitted to a level of frustration around Preuss' inability to get the balance right when he is trying to impose himself on contests.
"He's a big man and we need to continue to make sure his technique's right," McVeigh said.
"Unfortunately for young Tim English he was hurt in that tackle (last Saturday night).
"We love his intent, love his aggression, that's what we're after, but the finishing piece of that tackle needs to be better and he understands that.
"It's not intentional, it's just a moment in the game where he just had to get that right.
"We'll continue to work with him in that area and hopefully get him right because he contributes really well when he's there but he just hasn't been there enough lately.
"He needs to make sure he addresses that but also make sure that while he's in this lay-off he continues to improve his fitness and make sure he's ready to go when we call him up."
The Giants will make at least three changes to the side that lost ot the Bulldogs last week, with Ryan Angwin (fractured tibia) and James Peatling (hamstring) joining Preuss on the sidelines.
Preuss was cleared of significant damage to his ankle and will be available in round 16.
McVeigh said former co-captain Phil Davis was a "big chance" to return against Collingwood for his first AFL game since suffering a serious hamstring injury in round two.
