Pret A Manger's second Dublin store to open early December

British coffee shop chain Pret A Manger will open its second Dublin store on Hatch Street in early December 2022.

The company opened its first cafe in Ireland in August of this year. Located on Dawson Street, the new cafe was welcomed by fans of the franchise and has proved popular for its offering of fresh pastries, coffees, sandwiches, wraps and salads.

Dubliners have spotted what appears to be the location of the brand new Hatch Street store, sharing snaps of the space on social media. The images shared on social media would suggest that Dublin's second Pret A Manger store will be located where Crawdaddy used to be.

Crawdaddy was a nightclub and live music venue. Housed in the old Harcourt Street Train Station building, it closed in 2012.

A spokesperson for Pret A Manger confirmed to Dublin Live that a second store will open on Hatch Street in early December. The new shop will have 20 employees.

The company has also moved to a new charity partner, Dublin Christian Mission, for their food donations. Dublin Christian Mission is a non-denominational organisation which runs a homeless drop-in centre as well as a youth club and summer camps.

The Pret A Manger on Dawson Street was the first of the chain's 20 new shops planned for Ireland over the next 10 years. Huge queues formed when it opened on Dawson Street as hungry Dubs were eager to get their hands on the free lunches being given out on opening day.

"For years we’ve had fans in Ireland hoping for a Pret in their home country so we’re delighted we can finally make that happen," Interim UK and Ireland Managing Director Guy Meakin said. "Working alongside our franchise partners Carebrook, we look forward to expanding further and bringing our freshly made food and organic coffee to even more people across the country."
