Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe has admitted his side have been dealing with a sickness bug in the camp ahead of their trip to Bristol City.
The Robins host Preston on Wednesday at Ashton Gate with Nigel Pearson's side on a run of five matches without a win. Their opponents will head into the contest buoyed by a 3-2 victory at Norwich on Saturday.
It moved Lowe's side up to eighth in the Championship and their victory was made more impressive by the fact a handful of players were throwing up before and during the contest.
Reported by the Lancashire Post, he revealed after the game: "We’ve had a bit of a bug going through the camp with six or seven players sick this morning, so to get three points given that is fantastic.
"We had a bug all through the camp all night. Brad Potts got taken off the bench because he was spewing up on the pitch, Ali McCann spewed up at half time.
"Ben Whiteman's stomach was in turmoil, Freddie Woodman we had to get some vitamins in him, he was sick. We've had lads in there that have played through the bug. Myself and Mike Pollitt have had it as well.
"For there to be illness going through the team and for them to go out there and perform the way they did, it's really pleasing."
The bug is likely to have an impact on their preparations to take on City for the rearranged fixture following the Queen's death last month. Lowe's team selection is already hampered by the news central defender Jordan Storey is suspended for the contest.
The 25-year-old has played in every minute of Championship action this season but picked up his fifth yellow card meaning he'll be sidelined for one match. It means Bambo Diaby is likely to come in for his first appearance of the season in all competitions.
Pearson has selection issues of his own with Kal Naismith to miss out with a calf injury. His organisation and leadership was a notable absence against Birmingham and Timm Klose could come into the side for his first league start.
Matty James is also a doubt with a groin issue alongside Kane Wilson but Joe Williams will return following his one-match suspension after picking up five yellow cards.
