USA Clinch 10th Consecutive Presidents Cup Victory

Team USA clinched the Presidents Cup on Sunday as they secured a 10th straight title in the tournament.

Keegan Bradley, USA's 2025 Ryder Cup captain, ensured the victory with a one up win on the last over Si Woo Kim despite Scottie Scheffler earlier losing to Hideki Matsuyama.

USA led 11-7 going into Sunday's 12 singles matches after their big-names responded on Saturday to a humiliating 5-0 defeat the day before.

Victory in the singles rarely looked in doubt once Xander Schauffele had recorded an emphatic early victory over Jason Day in the first match. USA captain Jim Furyk said: "We talked about being a dog all week, being the tougher team. I've got to feel like we kind of owned the back nine this week, and that was the difference."

Furyk was Ryder Cup captain in 2018 when USA lost in Paris to Europe but he feels better equipped now. He added: "I think most of what I took away from '18 is just being a little bit more prepared, being a half a day, a half a step ahead of where I was in '18, and it made me feel more comfortable about the groupings we were putting out."

As it happened: Presidents Cup live updates from...

The 15th Presidents Cup is underway as Mike Weir's Internationals look to win the cup back from the USA for the first time in 26 years.

We have five four ball games today, with Jason Day and Byeong-hun An taking on Xander Schauffele and Tony Finau in the first match.

HELLO AND WELCOME!

Welcome to live updates from the 2024 Presidents Cup.

The United States will look to defend the title they won at Quail Hollow two years ago, but the International side will be looking to spring a surprise upset for their first cup victory since 1998 - 26 years ago!

MEET TEAM USA

Here is the side selected by Jim Fuyrk for the trip north of the border.

MEET TEAM INTERNATIONAL

Led by Mike Weir in his home country, here are the twelve players representing the International team.

THE BATTLE FOR THE CUP BEGINS SHORTLY

The opening match is set to tee off around 11.35am local time in Canada, so just under 10 minutes time.

One of Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele will hit the opening tee shot to kick start their match against the International's Jason Day and Byeong Hun An

THE PRESIDENTS CUP IS UNDERWAY!

Golf balls are in the air in Canada!

Tony Finau sends a driver up the middle of the fairway to get the match underway!

MATCH ONE IS GO!

After Finau's booming drive, the remaining three players all miss the fairway.

Schauffele's drive leaks well right of the fairway whilst Jason Day finds lush rough to the left. An finds the lighter rough right of the fairway and should have a decent lie for his approach.

SCHAUFFELE SPINS ONE INSIDE 10FT ON NO.1

Xander's tee shot was so wayward he got the advantage of the trampled down rough where the spectators were standing. He lands one 25ft past the hole and spins it back to inside 10ft.

Finau, An and Day are all also safely aboard the green with An having the best look at birdie from around 20ft.

MACKENZIE HUGHES SHOTGUNNING BEERS ON THE FIRST TEE

Back on the tee, Mackenzie Hughes was down on one knee downing a can of Stella Artrois, much to the enjoyment of the fans.

As you can imagine, he isn't playing today...

JASON DAY WALKS IN A LONG BIRDIE PUTT ON THE FIRST!

Jason Day does an early walk as his 25ft birdie putt drops in on the 1st.

It left Xander Schauffele a 12ft putt to half the hole with birdies but he misses low.

The International Team draw first blood in Canada.

MATCH TWO UNDERWAY

Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa take on Min Woo Lee and veteran Adam Scott in game number two, and all but Scott find the fairway off the first tee.

Scott missed his drive long and right in a similar position to Schauffele in match one. He'll have a trampled down lie in the rough but may have trees in his way to the green.

SCHAUFFELE WINS THE SECOND HOLE WITH BIRDIE

After zipping a wedge in to 3ft, Schauffele wins the second hole for the USA.

He and Finau are back to AS against Byeong Hun An and Jason Day.

EARLY LEAD FOR USA IN MATCH TWO

Morikawa rolls in a 20ft birdie putt on the first for the USA. Min Woo Lee cannot match him from a similar distance as the visitors take the lead in match two.

MATCH THREE UNDERWAY

Arguably the match of the day on paper, Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley find the fairway with their drives in their match against Tom Kim and Ben An.

Kim is the only man to miss a fairway. Early signs could be worrying for the International team, who have missed a number of fairways already, unlike their opponents.

If they have any chance of winning the cup, they'll have to hit more fairways - it's hard to make birdies from the rough.

THEEGALA MISSED CHANCE TO MOVE TO 2UP

A slippy birdie putt down the hill on the 2nd slides by for Theegala. He misses the 12ft effort but remains 1UP alongside Morikawa.

MORE RED ON THE BOARD AS HENLEY BIRDIES THE FIRST

After Im's birdie try lipped out, Presidents Cup rookie Russell Henley drops in a 12ft birdie putt on the opening hole to steal an early lead for himself and Scottie Scheffler.

MATCH FOUR UNDERWAY

This is a recurring theme, as Taylor Pendrith misses the fairway off the first tee after both Americans find the fairway.

His partner Bezuidenhout is safely in the short grass however, albeit a decent distance behind Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Clark.

TOM KIM IN HIS ELEMENT

Kim was arguably the star of the show in the 2022 Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow, stealing the show as a rookie.

He was quite the showman, as expected, upon his arrival to the first tee. He and partner Im would lose the opening hole.

US TAKE THE LEAD IN MATCH FOUR

Bradley rolls in a 10ft birdie putt on the 1st to take the lead over the Internationals.

This has not been a good start for the hosts.

MATCH FIVE UNDERWAY AS ALL MATCHES NOW ON THE COURSE

Cantlay becomes only the second American from ten players to miss the fairway on the first, but Sam Burns safely finds the short grass.

In what is becoming a theme, both Matsuyama and Conners miss the fairway. Advantage to the U.S already.

BIRDIE ON THE SIXTH FOR Byeong Hun An WHO HALVES WITH Xander Schauffele

The top match remains all square after birdies on the par 5 sixth for Xander Schauffele and Ben An.

Second match also remains halved after pars on the par 3 fifth

Adam Scott has followed Collin Morikawa into the hole for a par 3 on the 5th and the second match is all squared too.

COOL PUTTING FROM PENDRITH ON THE third

Taylor Pendrith has just made a clutch par putt on the third for a half to ensure the international side remain just one down in the third match after Wyndham Clark was in for four already.

CHIP in MAGIC FROM AN ON THE SEVENTH

The top match remains all square despite An chipping in the hole for a birdie two on the seventh but Finau makes a half with his putt for a two.

SCHEFFLER MAKES A PAR AT THE PAR 3 FIFTH

World No.1 Scheffler has been playing second fiddle to partner Russell Henley in the third match but has just contributed on the par 3 fifth with a three before Sungjae Im followed him in for a half. USA remain one up in this third match out.

Corey Conners enjoying plenty of support

Canadian Corey Conners has started well in Montreal where he and partner Hideki Matsuyama are one up through three holes against Sam Burns and Patrick Cantlay. Burns just putted in for birdie but Matsuyama walked his birdie putt in from about 12 yards for the half to keep his pairing ahead.

MIN WOO LEE'S BIRDIE PUTS THE INTERNATIONALS AHEAD

Min Woo Lee has just won the par 5 sixth with a birdie four as Morikawa and Theegala then failed to chip in for the half. The International pairing of Lee and Scott are now one up.

ADAM SCOTT STIFFS A WEDGE AT THE PAR 3 SEVENTH

Scott is in close to six feet at the short par 3 seventh with the international side , who are one up, enjoying some momentum. The USA pairing are also on the green but Morikawa and Theegala are 12 feet and 20 feet away respectively.

SCHEFFLER SPINS A WEDGE IN CLOSE AT THE PAR 5 SIXTH

Scheffler is pushing to extend his one up lead with Henley after spinning a wedge in close at the par 5 sixth against Sungjae Im and Tom Kim.

DRAMA AT THE PAR 3 SEVENTH AS MORIKAWA WINS HOLE

Despite Adam Scott being in close for a birdie putt, the Australian failed to follow Morikawa in at the par 3 seventh and the second match is now tied.

SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY MOVE TWO UP

Scheffler and Henley are looking strong against Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott after Henley's birdie at the par 5 sixth won the hole.

FINAU AND SCHAUFFELE ONE UP AT THE TURN

Finau and Schauffele look a fine pairing and made two birdies apiece on the front nine. They are one up at the turn after Schauffele made par on the ninth to match Jason Day.

Patrick Cantlay looking to strike back in bottom match

Patrick Cantlay has drilled an iron in close at the par 3 fifth with a nine foot birdie putt to come as he and Sam Burns look to get their game back to level against Connors and Matsuyama.

ADAM SCOTT PUTS HIM AND MIN WOO LEE BACK INFRONT

Scott has just birdied the par 4 eighth to put the Internationals one up in the second match.

CANTLAY CONVERTS HIS BIRDIE PUTT TO MAKE HIS MATCH LEVEL

The bottom match is now level after Cantlay converted his birdie putt at the par 3 fifth.

DRAMA BETWEEN 'FRIENDS' KIM AND SCHEFFLER AT THE SEVENTH

Tom Kim made a birdie on the par 3 seventh but then pal and fellow Dallas resident Scheffler responded and celebrated after following him for a two. USA duo Scheffler and Henley remain two up in the third match.

PENDRITH TAKES HIS MATCH BACK TO ALL SQUARE

More good putting from Taylor Pendrith on the par 5 sixth where he has made a par against Bradley and Clark to ensure the Internationals trail by just one hole.

TOM KIM GETTING FIRED UP

Kim has just fired himself up and the internationals with a birdie putt from 24 feet on the eighth, leaving Henley and Scheffler to try to respond from about half the distance which they fail to do and this match is back to USA one up. Controversially the Internationals have gone straight to the ninth tee while USA are still putting.

USA TAKE THE LEAD IN THE BOTTOM MATCH

Sam Burns and Patrick Cantlay are now leading in the bottom match after Burns made a four with an up and down at the par 5 sixth.

HENLEY AND SCHEFFLER'S GAME IS GETTING VERY TASTY

Henley has just put his approach at the par 4 ninth to eight feet. Henley and Scheffler lead by one hole after successive birdies from Tom Kim but both the Internationals have come up short with their approaches. USA are looking good to go two up with Scheffler also 18 feet away in two.

ANIMATED MATSUYAMA FIST PUMPS AFTER WINNING SEVENTH

Matsuyama has just taken the bottom match back to all square after the Japanese pro drained a 22 foot birdie putt on the par 3 seventh which USA were unable to match and we are all square in the bottom match.

KIM AND IM ESCAPE THE NINTH WITH A PAR

Kim and Im remain just one down against Scheffler and Henley who both failed to birdie the par 4 ninth despite having good birdie looks.

MIN WOO LEE MAKES PAR AT THE TENTH

Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott are the only International pair to be leading in the second match and they have just made pars on the ninth and tenth to preserve their slender one-up advantage.

BRILLIANT SHOT BY BRADLEY INTO THE NINTH

Keegan Bradley, who is one up with Clark against Bezuidenhout and Penrith, has just put his approach in right on top of the flag at the par four ninth. He and Clark are both closer than their opponents.

CANTLAY'S BIRDIE ON THE EIGHT PUTS USA IN BOTTOM MATCH

The bottom match is a real see-saw affair and Cantlay has just made a birdie on the eighth to put USA back infront.

Bezuidenhout makes a belated first birdie on the ninth

Clark and Bradley are made to sweat for a half on the ninth as they remain one up after Bezuidenhout's first birdie with a 13-foot putt. Bradley converts to keep USA ahead.

KIM AND SCHEFFLER CONTINUING TO NEEDLE EACH OTHER

Kim and Scheffler are good mates but it really doesn't appear like it today. Kim has just rolled in a decent birdie putt from 20 feet on the 10th for his third birdie in four holes to halve the hole after the world No.1 made a three from 25 feet on the par 4 tenth. USA remain one up.

INTERNATIONALS LEADING IN JUST THE SECOND MATCH

Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott are the only Internationals pairing to be leading after both Min Woo and Morikawa made par on the 11th.

FINAU AND SCHAUFFELE LOOKING STRONG IN OPENING AME

Finau and Schauffele are two up in the top match with five holes left and looking good for victory against Byeong Hun An and Jason Day. They are six under combined and it is going to take something special to beat them. The duo are also in decent shape off the tee on the 14th.

BREAKTHROUGH FOR INTERNATIONALS IN FOURTH MATCH

The internationals are back to level in the fourth match after a birdie on the tenth against Bradley and Clark.

SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY'S MATCH STILL VERY CLOSE

Tensions in the Scheffler and Henley against Kim and Im match seemed to have calmed down after three straight halves. USA remain one up with seven to play but there is no doubt the visitors were annoyed on the eighth green when their opponents walked off to the ninth tee without having the courtesy to watch them putt out.

HENLEY RIPS A FAIRWAY WOOD IN CLOSE AT THE PAR 5 12TH

Russell Henley, playing alongside Scheffler, is impressing today and has come in on half of USA's holes. He has just fired an incredible fairway wood from 271 yards to 20 feet to set-up an eagle putt. USA are one up and could double their lead here but Scheffler and Kim end up halving in pars.

INTERNATIONALS CAPTAIN MIKE WEIR STILL UPBEAT

Weir assessed: "We can flip these anytime. The matches are very close. Our guys have to keep hanging in there. You just give them all a little pep talk and try and be positive."

CLARK WITH A BIG PUTT ON THE 11TH

Clark and Bradley are back to one up in the fourth match after Clark drained a huge putt from 45 feet for a birdie three to win the hole on the par 4 11th.

FANTASTIC CHIP IN FROM FINAU  BUT INTERNATIONALS STRIKE BACK

Finau, playing with Schauffele, holed out in the top game at the 13th for a half from green side rough but he has lost the par 4 15th to a An's birdie for the Internationals who are just one down.

USA REMAIN UP WITH SIX HOLES REMAINING IN THE THIRD MATCH

Scheffler and Henley won the first hole and have led ever since. At the par 3 13th, Scheffler is in closest out of the four players with a tee shot to 17 feet for USA who are one up against Kim and Im.

FURYK PREDICTS TIGHT FINISH OVER TRICKY CLOSING HOLES

Furyk said: "It has been even, guys are going to have to grind it out." Furyk also admitted there is a growing rivalry between Scheffler and Kim as he added: "I know how competitive they both are."

BIG TURNAROUND IN TOP MATCH

It is now all square in the top match where Jason Day's par on 16th was enough to level the match and complete wins on successive holes for the Internationals who were two down and staring defeat in the face. But Day then misses the green and An is unable to get close before Schauffele fires it in close.

AGONY FOR AN AS HE LIPS OUT ON THE 17TH

Great effort from distance on the 17th in the top match which is all square. An's birdie effort from 34 feet lips out though and Schauffele will have a birdie putt to win the hole which the American makes from eight feet.

BRADLEY'S BIRDIE PUTT RESTORES USA'S LEAD

Keegan Bradley just made a decent birdie two on the par 3 13th to put himself and Clark one up with five to play against Bezuidenhout and Pendrith.

BURNS HOLES OUT FOR A BIRDIE IN THE BOTTOM MATCH

Burns and Cantlay are now two-up with five holes left against Connors and Matsuyama in the bottom match after Burns' birdie on the par 3 13th.

HENLEY JUST POURED IN ANOTHER BIRDIE

Henley just made his and Scheffler's seventh birdie of the day in the third match and USA are now three up with three to play against Kim and Im, who is yet to make a single birdie himself.

FANTASTIC APPROACH FROM SCHAUFFELE AT THE 18TH

Schauffele has shown his class in the final two holes to surely clinch a point for USA. The two-time Major winner just birdied the 17th in the top match and has put his approach in to three feet at the 18th to set up a likely birdie and the win.

SCHAUFFELE'S SUCCESSIVE BIRDIES CLINCH OPENING USA Point

After the Internationals levelled the match with two holes left, Schauffele has just finished birdie-birdie to get the USA's first full point.

Taylor Pendrith with a superb approach at the par 4 15th

Taylor Pendrith is doing his best to keep the Internationals in the fourth match which has been a real see-saw. He makes a three but so does Bradley whose USA pairing remain one up.

MORIKAWA AND THEEGALA HEAD UP THE LAST IN THE LEAD

Morikawa has just missed a putt to win the match on the 17th but USA are one up going up the 18th against Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott.

SCHEFFLER CLOSES OUT VICTORY ON THE 16TH

Impressive duo Scheffler and Henley have just closed out a 3&2 victory over Im and Kim in a match which had a bit of needle after the Internationals walked to the ninth green while USA were still putting out on the eighth. Scheffler said: "I think it was a fun match. It is all in good fun, we enjoy competing against each other. We are friends after but not friends during it, I guess."

THEEGALA HITS A SUPERB SHOT INTO last AS EYES HIS FIRST BIRDIE

Morikawa and Theegala are heading up the last one-up and they should be good to claim victory after the latter put his approach from 167 yards to less than three feet against Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott. Theegala just tapped in for his belated first birdie of the day to win the point one up.

USA DEBUTANT THEEGALA REFLECTS ON HIS FIRST WIN WITH MORIKAWA

Theegala said: "I was really nervous and definitely thought about what I was doing a couple of times but it was awesome, I had so much fun out there. It is the best."

NEITHER CLARK OR BRADLEY GET IT CLOSE ON PAR 3 17TH

USA are one up in the penultimate match but Clark and Bradley are 37 and 50-feet away respectively which has allowed Bezuidenhout to take advantage with a tee shot to six feet. This game is close.

FINE SHOT FROM CANTLAY INTO THE 16TH

Cantlay could have a putt at the 16th to win the match after firing in an iron close from 186 yards to 14 feet with USA two up.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout misses birdie putt on 17th to tie match

Great play from Christiaan Bezuidenhout on 17th who put his tee shot at the par 3 to seven foot but he missed the putt and Bradley and Clark go up the last one up.

CANTLAY AND BURNS HEAD TO THE 17TH TEE

Cantlay and Burns are two up with two to play as they head to the 17th tee after Cantlay's birdie putt came up short on 16.

MATSUYAMA WITH A FINE TEE SHOT ON THE PAR 3 17TH

USA duo Cantlay and Burns are two up on the 17th looking to close out victory but Matsuyama is in closest off the tee and should have a putt to take the match up the last.

IN PENULTIMATE MATCH , INTERNATIONALS STRUGGLING

Bradley and Clark are in the box seat on the last against Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Taylor Pendrith with the South African in the water needing a drop and Pendrith in the sand. Bradley has played up to 20 feet but Pendrith has played up close to 10 feet with a fine shot and Clark is also in close.

MATSUYAMA MISSES A MUST MAKE ON 17 FOR BIRDIE

Matsuyama hit a fine shot into 17th but missed the birdie and Cantlay and Burns have won 2&1 in the final match.

BRILLIANT PUTT FROM BRADLEY TO COMPLETE CLEAN SWEEP

USA have won the opening session 5-0 after a superb birdie putt from Keegan Bradley on the 18th to win his match with Clark over Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Taylor Pendrith.

Match 3: Scottie Scheffler/Russell Henley  Sungjae Im/Tom Kim

HOSTS MAKING A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO GET CROWD GOING

"We Will Rock You" by Queen is being belted out on the first tee as the International team in Canada look to lift their fans and get some more support today in the face of a huge challenge.

FANS, WELL IT IS FRIDAY, DEFINITELY GIVING A BIT MORE NEEDLE OUT

There are boos for USA's Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele as they are announced on to the tee and cheers when Schauffele finds the rough. Opponent Sungjae Im, playing with Hideki Matsuyama, finds the fairway to big applause.

CAPTAINS GIVE THEIR THOUGHTS BEFORE DAY 2

Mike Weir said: "What an atmosphere on the first tee, the fans really brought it today." Weir also defended his decision not to use Tom Kim in the foursomes despite the player being -3 on his own ball yesterday in the four balls.

USA counterpart Jim Furyk added: "We have only played for five points out of 30. These guys are on a mission and know they have a lot of work to do. It is a different format and let's get to work."

USA HAVE A TRICKY PAR PUTT COMING BACK ON THE FIRST

Schauffele's putt after Cantlay hit the green has gone six foot past with the Internationals down for a regulation par before Cantlay misses his par effort and USA are one down.

MATCH TWO UNDERWAY

Taylor Pendrith and Sahith Theegala tee off in the second game and both have just missed the fairway before halving in pars.

MORE TROUBLE FOR OPENING USA PAIR ON THE SECOND

Cantlay put Schauffele in the sand off the tee on the second and they are now over the back on the second before scrambling a par with a fine putt by Schauffele but the Internationals are on in regulation and have a six foot birdie putt which Matsuyama walks in as Internationals go two up.

Sungjae Im on the fairway on the third

Sungjae Im finds the fairway again off the third tee with the internationals looking good at two up while Schauffele goes in the right rough.

INTERNATIONALS MISS CHANCE TO GO THREE-UP AFTER THREE

The top match have just halved the par four third in 4s and are off to the fourth with the Internationals two up after a fine start.

ADAM SCOTT MISSES 13 FOOT BIRDIE PUTT

The second match is tied after two holes after Adam Scott missed a birdie attempt.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout'S PUTTER FINALLY COMES GOOD

Christiaan Bezuidenhout had tough day with the putter on the closing stages yesterday as he missed several putts and lost on the last but he has just holed a 12-foot birdie putt on the first partnering Jason Day as they go one up.

MORE TROUBLE FOR SCHAUFFELE AND CANTLAY ON THE FOURTH

Cantlay and Schauffele were arguably USA's strongest pairing on paper in the foursomes but they are two down and Schauffele has just crashed his shot into a tree at the fourth where they face their second bogey in four holes against Im and Matsuyama whose par wins them the hole as they go three up after four which is a huge shock.

GREAT START FOR THE CANADIANS ON THE FIRST HOLE

Corey Connors and Mackenzie Hughes are one up against Clark and Finau after a par on the opening hole. Huge cheers and support for the Canadians.

SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY TOGETHER AGAIN IN FOURTH PAIRING

Scottie Scheffler has just found the fairway after resuming his impressive partnership with Russell Henley in the fifth and final foursomes match. Si Woo Kim and Byeong Hun An have got their work cut out here as Henley drills an approach in close at the first before Scheffler misses the putt.

GREAT UP AND DOWN FROM THE SAND FOR INTERNATIONALS

Im taps in for a sand save par on the fifth after a brilliant bunker shot from Hideki Matsuyama as the Internationals remain three up.

PROBLEMS CONTINUE FOR CANTLAY AND SCHAUFFELE

Cantlay and Schauffele are astonishingly three down after five holes to Matsuyama and Im and it could get worse for USA who missed the fairway on the left on the sixth at the par 5 and have had to lay up while the Internationals are on the green in two and go four up with a birdie. Remarkable.

ADAM SCOTT MAKING UP FOR YEARS OF PRESIDENTS CUP PAIN

Adam Scott has never been on a winning team in the Presidents Cup but has just drained a 40-foot birdie putt on the par 3 fifth to go up two up with Pendrith against Theegala and Morikawa.

OF FIVE MATCHES ON THE COURSE, USA ARE ONLY UP IN ONE

Scheffler and Henley are the only USA pairing winning in the foursomes after a birdie  at the par 4 second to take the lead against Si Woo Kim and Byeong Hun An.

MATSUYAMA HAS JUST WALKED IN ANOTHER BIRDIE PUTT

Matsuyama and Im are on fire in the top match for the Internationals. They are three under through seven holes and Cantlay has just needed a gutsy half just to stay four down.

INTERNATIONALS BUILD BIG LEADS IN FIRST TWO MATCHES

As well as Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im being on course for a big shock win in the first group, Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith are three up in the second game after three successive birdies.

Si Woo Kim AND Byeong Hun An PEG BACK SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY

Kim and An have just pegged back Scheffler and Henley to all square with a birdie at the par four third. That means USA are not winning currently in any of the five games.

REMARKABLE SCORE IN THE TOP MATCH FOR THE INTERNATIONALS

Incredible scoreline in the top match where Schauffele and Cantlay have been slack, especially with their driving, and now Matsuyama and Im are five up after a fourth birdie in eight holes.

ALL CANADIAN TEAM IN THE PENULTIMATE MATCH GO THREE UP

Clark and Finau have made a mess of the par 3 fifth where they made bogey while Connors and Mackenzie Hughes make par to win the hole after a clutch up and down.

MORE INCREDIBLE PLAY FROM MATSUYAMA

Matsuyama has been superb with Im in the top match. They are five up and the Japanese pro has just put his approach at the ninth to 10 feet before Cantlay's approach goes to three feet. Im gets in the hole for three and they are five under for the front nine after a half on this hole.

JASON DAY'S PUTTER DELIVERS A BIG ONE

Day and Christiaan Bezuidenhout have just gone one up on the seventh with a birdie two at the par three where Day dropped a 28 foot putt against Homa and Harman.

WEIR EXPLAINS HOW HE USED YESTERDAY'S DRUBBING AS MOTIVATION

Weir has been discussing his talk to his team last night. The Internationals captain said: "Every great comeback story starts with a deficit and we are in a deficit. There is a long runway left in this tournament. That was kind of the message and the guys were very motivated."

TOP MATCH WILL BE OVER SOON

Matsuyama and Im's drubbing of Cantlay and Schauffele in the top match has continued at the 10th where their sixth birdie has put them six up. Astonishing.

WHAT A SHOT FROM AN IN THE FINAL MATCH

An and Si Woo Kim are giving Scheffler and Henley a tough game in the final pairing. An has just hit an outrageous third at the par 5 sixth from 219 yards to one inch after the Internationals were originally in the trees off the tee. It has left Scheffler needing to make a birdie which he fails to do. The Internationals go one up.

HOMA AND HARMAN YET TO GET GOING IN THIRD MATCH

Max Homa and Brian Harman are level par for the day after nine holes which is not good enough and they are two down to Bezuidenhout and Day.

INTERNATIONALS NOW SEVEN UP IN TOP GAME

This is incredible golf from Matsuyama and Im who are seven up after 11 holes against Schauffele and Cantlay after a sixth successive birdie. Wow. This match will be over soon. They are seven up with seven holes left.

MATSUYAMA AND IM COULD WRAP UP RECORD WIN ON 12th

Im could put USA's first pairing away on the 12th but has found the green side trap where Matsuyama has played another exceptional bunker shot to leave a tap in par and USA now need an eagle to stay alive as Cantlay's effort slides by. USA gets a birdie but Im has a short putt for from three feet four inches for the match which drops for a 7&6 win. It has tied the biggest margin of victory ever in the competition.

In-form Matsuyama and Im react after being -8 for 12 holes

After seven straight birdies to win 7&6, Matsuyama said: "It was a tough challenge for us losing five matches yesterday but Sungjae hit the perfect tee shot to give us momentum." Im added: "Yesterday was not a nice beginning but from the start we were trying to win. The team-work was well done."

SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY THE ONLY USA PAIRING TO NOT BE LOSING

While all the USA players look out of form and out of sorts, Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley are all square after the ninth and will be a tough double act to beat.

ADAM SCOTT AND TAYLOR PENDRITH TRYING TO EXTEND THEIR LEAD

Scott and Pendrith are close after three on the par 5 12th where they lead four up against Morikawa and Theegala. Pendrith makes his putt as they are -5 under through 12 holes and are now five-up after Theegala misses his birdie effort.

SCHEFFLER DOING HIS BEST TO WRESTLE A US WIN IN BOTTOM MATCH

Scheffler and Henley are all square in the bottom match but have a good birdie look on the par four 10th, where Scheffler has put a shot from 165 yards to seven and a half feet.

PENDRITH AND SCOTT HAVE A CHANCE TO WRAP UP WIN ON 13TH

Pendrith and Scott are five up with six holes to play and Pendrith has just put his tee shot at the par 3 13th to 19 feet. Theegala is 22 feet away with partner Morikawa to putt first as his effort slides by on the high side. Scott also fails to make his from a similar line and they head to the 14th at five up with five to play.

CANADIAN DUO CONNERS AND HUGHES ROMPING TO VICTORY

Home favourites Corey Connors and Mackenzie Hughes are six up through 11 holes after a superb 22-foot birdie putt on the 11th against Clark and Finau. This game will also be over soon.

INTERNATIONALS SET FOR SECOND POINT ON THE 14TH

Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith are five up on the 14th and a half here will give the Internationals a point against Theegala and Morikawa. Morikawa now needs to hole from off the green to keep the game alive....which he fails to achieve with a poor chip which comes up short as the Internationals win 5&4. USA are stunned.

Scott reflects on his 22nd point for the Internationals

Scott, who now has 22 points for the International side as their record points scorer, said: "We listened to Mike and the other assistants and took the positives of how close it was. We were playing well and we just had to get on with it. There is a lot of fight in this team and we are not going to go away."

CONNORS AND HUGHES LOOKING TO CLOSE OUT A POINT ON HOME SOIL

Corey Connors has just fired a superb iron shot from 213 yards to five feet at the par 3 13th. He and Hughes have had six birdies in 12 holes which is superb in foursomes. They could close out victory here as they are five up before Hughes slots a close-range birdie for a 6&5 win over Clark and Finau.

CANADIAN DUO CONNORS AND HUGHES REFLECT ON THEIR BIG WIN

Connors said: "The crowd was in it from the get go and it was such a fun day and great to share it with such a great friend."  Hughes added: "This is one the highlights of my life and funnest days on the golf course."

Si Woo Kim fires in a brilliant shot to the par 3 13th

What a tee shot from Si Woo Kim on the 13th with his match tied with Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley. Henley will have a birdie putt from 41 feet compared to Byeong Hun An was three feet away after Kim's 212 yard shot and has now been conceded as the Internationals go one up.

JASON DAY AND Christiaan Bezuidenhout PUSHING FOR VICTORY

Fine shot by Day into the par 4 15th. Day and partner Christiaan Bezuidenhout are two up and are closer than USA duo Homa and Harman who will putt first as both pairs make 4 and the Internationals remain two up with three holes left.

DAY'S TEE SHOT ON THE 16TH ON EDGE OF WATER HAZARD

Day and Christiaan Bezuidenhout are two up with three to play against Homa and Harman. But Day's tee shot on the 16th has gone left into the hazard with the Internationals deciding to take a drop. That has opened the door for Homa , who has 180 yards to the green.

HENLEY PLAYS TERRIFIC SHOT INTO THE 15TH

USA are hoping to turn the tables in the last match where the Internationals lead one up. But Henley has put his approach in close to eight feet while Byeong Hun An is 12 feet away.

INTERNATIONALS TWO UP TWO TO PLAY

Day and Christiaan Bezuidenhout have had a big escape on the 16th after Day drove into the water. But USA duo Homa and Harman failed to capitalise as the hole is halved in bogeys. The Internationals head to the 17th tee two up with two to play.

SCHEFFLER STILL BATTLING AWAY IN THE ANCHOR MATCH

USA just answered a birdie with a birdie of their own from Scheffler and Henley as the Internationals lead by one hole in the final group heading to the 16th.

HUGE ERROR FROM Christiaan Bezuidenhout ON 17TH TEE AS FINDS WATER

Disastrous shot from Christiaan Bezuidenhout who at two up with two to play has just missed the green right into the water at the par 3 17th. What a huge mental error after Max Homa hit a decent shot in. This group will be heading to the 18th.

ANCHOR MATCH REMAINS TIGHT WITH BOTH ON PAR 4 16TH IN REGULATION

This Scheffler and Henley match against Si Woo Kim and Byeong Hun An is on the 16th but it is another half and this is likely to go up the last as it is so tight.

HOMA AND HARMAN ON 18TH TRYING TO SALVAGE A HALF

Homa has 189 yards uphill into the 18th and is in the green side rough with his second shot. The Internationals of Jason Day and Christiaan Bezuidenhout are one up and just need a half up the last to get the point but Bezuidenhout is over the back.

TWO GREAT SHOTS INTO THE 17TH IN THE ANCHOR MATCH

Scottie Scheffler and Si Woo Kim have both hit the 17th green at the par 3 and are 10 and 14 away respectively with their partners to putt as they both end up with par for another half.

DAY COMES UP CLUTCH ON THE 18TH TO SURELY WIN A POINT

After his partner Christiaan Bezuidenhout went over the back on the 18th, Day has chipped back stiff for a four with the Internationals one up and just needing a half. Harman must now hole out for a half but he fails to do.

Henley finds the fairway up the last but Byeong Hun An misses left

The Internationals can complete a clean sweep if they win this final match and they are one up going up the last. But Byeong Hun An has pulled his tee shot left and is in the rough. Scottie Scheffler will be first to play from the fairway with 190 to the hole which he puts to 25 feet.

ADVANTAGE TO SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY UP THE LAST

Scheffler and Henley trail by one hole but may get away with a half on the 18th. Scheffler has put his second on the green, 25 feet away, but Si Woo Kim's approach from the rough has come up short of the green and the Internationals must now chip which comes up short again.

HENLEY HAS A PUTT FOR THE HOLE ON 18TH TO SALVAGE A HALF

Henley has a 25 foot putt to win the 18th and escape with a half point. If he misses, Si Woo Kim still needs to make a 15-foot par putt. Henley putts and his effort curls wide. Now Kim needs to hole to complete a clean sweep for the Internationals which he nails. Wow.

INTERNATIONALS COMPLETE A 5-0 SWEEP

What a putt from Si Woo Kim to deny USA a half point in the final game to complete a 5-0 sweep for the Internationals. That follows their drubbing on the opening and completes the first ever back to back sweeps in golf Cup history.

JIM FURYK REACTS TO HIS SIDE'S 5-0 DEFEAT IN THE FOURSOMES

Furyk, who saw many of his stars thumped in heavy defeats, said: "Their backs were against the wall and they had to come out firing. Usually you see some momentums swings in this and they played a lot of great golf. We have a tough match on our hands. It is our turn to come out firing."

JOY FOR INTERNATIONALS CAPTAIN MIKE WEIR AFTER 5-0 LOSS ON DAY ONE

Weir said: "I believe in the guys, 5-0 was obviously a bonus but we just wanted to get ourselves back in this. The guys were incredible. The crowds were electric, big huge crowds."

TOM KIM LOVES THE PRESIDENTS CUP

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Well, yesterday was interesting, wasn't it? Day 3 is upon us and suddenly this contest has got interesting. 5-0 to 5-5. Did anyone see that coming? I certainly didn't. Having said that, there's no reason why this International side shouldn't be able to win - it's a team packed with talent. The Presidents Cup needs this - and it needed that bit of needle. Live reporting coming up...

WE'RE UNDERWAY

A misty start to the morning - not much roll on the fairways. And the first fourballs match is underway (foursomes this afternoon remember). If you're new to this, fourballs is exactly that - four players all playing their own ball.

DON'T POKE THE BEAR

Have The Internationals poked the bear? Scheffler looking mean out there this morning. Bit of a wide from the World No.1 into the 1st. Both he and Morikawa comprehensively outdriven. Now a putting contest...

A/S IN THE TOP MATCH

Poor putts all round from makable distances. No fireworks, no early statements. The fog really is heavy. Match 2 now getting underway...

GO CANADA

Match number two is Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele versus Canadian pairing Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes. Understandably, there's a lot of support for the home side, and a few boos for the US. Conners hits a snap hook - and Hughes does the same! Both Finau and Schauffele are in good spots.

VISIBILITY ISSUES

There's going to be a delay. Visibility is less than half a mile, so we're taking a pause.

CONDITIONS HAVE WORSENED

We need some warmth. The conditions have got a little worse. It's hard to predict, but the feeling is that it will lift pretty quickly and there shouldn't be too much of a delay.

PLAY SUSPENDED

DON'T PANIC

It looks bad, but there's a feeling that this type of fog can burn off quite quickly. The players are on the range keeping warm. Fog is better than electrical storms.... let's stay positive.

IT'S LIFTING!

If visibility on the 1st tee is anything to go by, conditions do seem to be improving. We can now see a fairway bunker.

LET'S TAKE A LOOK BACK

Here's how the International team completed the clean sweep yesterday to bring this contest back to 5-5. Let's be honest, it was all set up for a bit of an anti climax this weekend - again. But Mike Weir's men have regrouped impressively. When we do eventually get back underway, we could be in for a really entertaining battle. This is a competition that America has dominated over the years. Could we see an upset this weekend?

NO SIGN OF PLAY RESUMING

It's an hour now since the fog came in over the river, and there's no sign of play resuming at this stage.

WEATHER UPDATE

Gary Young, the Chief Referee, has given an update. It's going to take 20 minutes from when the officials given the all clear for the players to start playing again - although that doesn't mean we'll be underway in 20 minutes. In other words, folks, make a cup of tea or walk the dog. Fog isn't really lifting... yet.

THE WAIT GOES ON

Nothing much to report here. We've hit 1hr 20mins delay time. It's not a good sign when you see players doing trick shots on the range. Well, maybe it is - they're still out there. The problem is the fog still looks thick.

HERE'S WHY WE'RE DELAYED

It doesn't look good, does it? We're waiting for another update now.

2PM RESTART

Just as I say that.... we'll be underway again in six minutes.

AWAY WE GO AGAIN

At last, after a delay of about 90 minutes, we're back underway. Conners with a beauty after his duck hook, which seems like a long time ago. He's negotiated tree trouble to fire one to about 12 feet. The advantage now with the Internationals on the 1st.

HUGE PUTT FROM COLLIN

Collin Morikawa drains a long one on the 2nd. Scott almost chips in for the half, but that moment of magic from the American gives them a 1UP advantage. That putt was at least 40 feet, maybe a little more.

chance gone

Finau misses a great chance from about 8 feet to take the 2nd. The match remains all square. After a 90-minute fog delay, things are warming up with a few blows being traded. S.W. Kim puts INT 1UP on the 1st with a terrific up-and-down from the fairway bunker. He walked that putt in, and the crowd liked that.

A FEW HIGHLIGHTS

The best of the action so far...

S.W. KIM PUMPED

KIM PUTS INT 2UP

Tom Kim puts the Internationals 2UP against Bradley and Clark. He holes a beauty of a mid range putt on the 2nd, and the crowd erupts. Kim gives it an uppercut.

CONNERS STRUGGLING

Conners has been struggling with the lefts ever since his duck hook off the 1st tee. The Canadian is fiddling around again down the left side of the 4th fairway. It's early days, but the momentum seems to be with the Internationals. They lead in one match, all square in the other three.

HELLO HIDEKI

A peach of an approach from the former Masters champion - into 10 feet in the bottom match on the 2nd hole.

Don’t think the team strips concept is really working here

Is winning this fourball session more important for USA than the Internationals?

Do USA need a win in fourballs to offset what might happen in the next session, which is their Achilles heel is foursomes, aka alternate shot? Their travails yesterday continued on from those in Rome in the Ryder Cup. Of these 13 foursomes matches the scoreline is 1-12. They have only ever been up in a foursomes match for 10 holes across all those 13 matches.

USA miss chance some red on the board

Collin Morikawa has a birdie putt on 6 to win hole. He pulls it.

USA pull a hole back in Match 3

A Wyndham Clark birdie wins the hole, and he Keegan Bradley are now only I down.

Match 2 yet to see a birdie

All five holes have been halved in par

But that now changes!

Tony Finau makes the first birdie in Match 2 and USA have some red on the board.

Just firing out an idea

Wonder if the organisers considered, as way to catch up some of the time lost to fog at the start of today, of resuming the first session as a shotgun start, or to start today’s second session as a shotgun? Does that work in matchplay, or is a shotgun start only deemed appropriate for a strokeplay competition?

All square now in match 4

Matsuyama misses a short par putt to let the Americans in. That was a gift as you should not lose a hole to par in fourballs.

All four players in first match have missed the fairway on the 9th

That's the kind of golf all hackers like to see from the top pros occasionally.

Opportunity on the par-3 7th for Kim and Kim

Bradley and Clark have both missed the green and are in heavy rough. Si Woo Kim plays darts, then Tom Kim does so, too.

Tom Kim rolls birdie putt in

He putts first for Team Kim and that's four birdies in first seven holes for them.

Scheffler does not seize opportunity on 9

He has a short putt to win the hole, but it lips out. The top match goes through the turn all square. The only front nine holes not tied were the 2nd, which was won by Morikawa ,and the 3rd, taken by Adam Scott.

Dusting off my schoolboy French

Montreal is is the largest city in the province of Quebec. Quebec is the only province in Canada where French is the sole official language. The official Presidents Cup twitter/X post are in both languages, I am enjoying them for the chance to put my rusty schoolboy French to the test. So far I have been understanding most of them. But the two versions are not literal translations. “Ils maintiennent la pression!” I translated as “they maintain the pressure.” Checking to see how I did, I found their English version is “Fueling the fire!

Finau and Schauffele through turn 2 up

It really hasn;t been happening for their Canadian opponents who have been hanghing on for a while now. But now the dam has burst, Er, that's a mixed metaphor, but you know what I mean.

Team Kim Three Up

It appears you have to be called Kim for a putt to drop today. This duo are banging them in from wherever; everyone else around the course on either side seems to be mostly missing them.

How The kims went 3up

Putting the royal in Royal Montreal

There are two ways a golf club gets to call itself royal. The first is that a monarch confers the title on a club. The second is that a club simply puts royal in its name itself. For example, Royal Tara Golf Club in Ireland gave itself this name on the basis that the course is located near where the ancient kings of Ireland used to live, and Royal Spring Golf Course in India takes its name from the springs formerly used by by Mughal emperors.

Royal Montreal GC got there by the first route – in 1884 Queen Victoria conferred the Royal title on Montreal GC.

So few birdies in top match

This has the  World No 1 and 4 representing the US, and between them they have made one birdie in 11 holes -  by Morikawa on the 2nd. But the Internationals have made only one themselves - by Scott on the 3rd. It remains all square, where it has been since the 3rd.

Conners makes 17ft putt

That was rather against the story of today. He pulls a hole back for the Internationals, and he and Hughes are only 1down now.

Morikawa birdies par-5 12th

That wins the hole, so USA go 1up. Birdie = win hole so far in that game,

Jim Furyk has just been interviewed

"I'm gonna say the same thing I said basically two days ago on Thursday during the matches. Right now we've got three matches 1up so those are tight matches. Holes 14 through 18 are pretty dramatic – a lot of water out there ,tough shots, We were able pull through on Thursday – I'm hoping the guys can do it again today."

Surprising fact?

Anchor match now all square

A Matsuyama birdie on 10 does it. Both sides have been up at various times in this match.

Captaincy experience opportunities?

Maybe it is the disconnect caused by the two cups being run by different organisations, but do find it odd how few potential Ryder Cup captains are given a try out, or warm-up or however you care to call it in the less pressurised Presidents Cup.

Only Steve Stricker, who captained the Presidents Cup in 2017 and the Ryder Cup in 2021 has ever made that journey. But so many others have made the journey in the other direction as the Presidents Cup captain has often been a former Ryder Cup one. Jim Furyk was the losing captain in the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Adam Scott holes a 27ft downhill putt for birdie on 14

Morikawa then misses from 6ft. Then Scheffler misses from 10ft and it is the Internationals' hole. All square now this top match, Scheffler is the only American player today without a birdie.

What's with the putting today?

The putts haven't been dropping generally for most of the field, but Hideki Matsuyama has just trumped everyone. He has three putted from 7 feet, 7 inches to hand the 11th hole to Cantlay and Burns, who now go 1up.

CANTLAY CHIPS IN ON THE 12TH FOR AN EAGLE

Cantlay has produced some magic to put USA two up in the bottom match with six to play. He chipped in from 49 feet for a 3 to win the hole on the par 5.

SCHEFFLER SEARCHING FOR HIS FIRST BIRDIE

Scheffler and Morikawa are all square in the top match against Scott and Pendrith in the top match. World No.1 Scheffler has not had a single birdie but he has a great chance on the 16th after an approach from 195 yards to seven feet.

SCHAUFFELE SET TO CARRY HIM AND FINAU TO VICTORY

Schauffele, who is three up with Finau, has just produced an outstanding approach from the rough over water into the par 4 15th. He hit it from 179 yards to 9 ft 7 in after Finau went in the water. But Mackenzie Hughes has then put his shot in to six feet so the Canadian pair are still fighting hard.

TOM KIM JUST ROLLED IN HIS FIFTH BIRDIE OF THE MATCH

More huge celebrations from Tom Kim who has chested bumped his partner Si Woo Kim after rolling in his fifth birdie of the round on the 14th. The Internationals remain three up with four to play in the third game against Bradley and Clark who halved that hole with a birdie of their own.

scheffler puts USA belatedly infront in top match

Scheffler has - finally - recorded his first birdie of the day on the par 4 16th to put USA ahead with two holes left. Morikawa has then got on the tee and put a 9iron in close to six feet at the par 3 17th. USA should win it here with Pendrith going in the water and Scott missing the green and chipping up short.

SCHEFFLER GOES BIRDIE BIRDIE TO GET FIRST POINT ON THE BOARD

Scheffler has just converted his second successive birdie on the para 3 17th to get a 2&1 win with Morikawa over Scott and Pendrith. Morikawa said: "After we came in last night and got our frustrations out. Us being the leading group it was really important for us to put a point on the board."

TOM KIM AND Si Woo KIM GET A POINT FOR THE INTERNATIONALS

Si Woo Kim's birdie on the 15th completes a 4&3 win over Bradley and Clark. The two Kims have ham and egged it very well to win and shown plenty of energy with their celebrations. Tom Kim said: "We bonded together and we are comfortable. It was nice to get things going for the team."

XANDER SCHAUFFELE WINS A POINT WITH A 3&2 WIN

Schauffele's par on the 16th with Finau is enough to complete a 3&2 win over Canadian duo Hughes and Mackenzie. Schauffele said: "You have to have a bit of dog in you. When I look around the team room I see a lot of dogs. Everyone had a short night's sleep and sometimes it is nice to get back out."

ALL EYES ON THE BOTTOM MATCH WHICH IS THE ONLY GAME ALIVE

Four holes to go in the bottom match where the USA duo of Cantlay and Burns have both hit the fairway but failed to get in close on the 15th where Sungjae Im is six foot away as the Internationals look to halve their two down scoreline.

PICKS ANNOUNCED FOR THE FOURSOMES

CRUCIAL PUTT FROM IM TO KEEP BOTTOM MATCH ALIVE

The Internationals are two down with three to play after Im made a birdie on the 15th to keep their hopes alive after Cantlay got down in 3 before him.

BURNS AND CANTLAY LOOKING TO WRAP UP VICTORY ON 16TH

Burns and Cantlay are two up on the 16th green against Matsuyama and Im. Burns gets a four, Matsuyama lips out for birdie and gets a 4 too. So Cantlay will have a potential birdie putt for the match before Im is last to putt at about six feet out. Cantlay nails it and is -5 for his last 5 holes but Im gets his birdie too and we go to the 17th with USA two up.

ANCHOR MATCH GOES TO THE 17TH WHERE BURNS MISSES GREEN

Burns has missed the green to the left and Cantlay has also missed the green. The Internationals could take this down the last with a birdie as Matsuyama sticks his iron shot at the par 3 in close. Burns splashes out and USA are down for 3. The Internationals must make a birdie through Matsuyama as Im is also a 3.

MATSUYAMA MISSES HIS BIRDIE PUTT ON THE 17TH

USA have an 8-6 lead heading into the final foursomes session after Burns and Cantlay beat Matsuyama and Im 2&1.

WEIR RAISES EYEBROWS WITH HIS SELECTION

The Internationals have gone out with the same eight players in the foursomes as the fourballs which is a big shock after a long day with a fog delay. But Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith have gone back out quickly and opened with a birdie in their match against Harman and Homa which is tied.

HOMA AND HARMAN TIED AFTER TWO HOLES

Pendrith and Scott are all square with Homa and Harman after two holes after opening birdies followed by pars.

SCOTT FLUSHES A 7IRON IN CLOSE AT THE THIRD

Advantage to the Internationals on the third in the foursomes where Adam Scott has flushed his 7iron 170 yards into the breeze and is eight feet away after Harman put Homa in the green side rough. Pendrith then converts the birdie and the hosts are one up.

JIM FURYK DELIGHTED WITH HIS SIDE'S RESPONSE TO YESTERDAY'S 5-0 DEFEAT

USA captain Jim Furyk said: "They came out fighting after a tough day. We weren't pleased with how that session went and we responded but there is a lot more golf to be played. Matchplay is a lot about applying pressure. More fairways, more greens, more pressure."

INTERNATIONALS PEGGED BACK BY USA IN FIRST MATCH OUT

The Internationals are two-under for four holes but are back to level after a birdie on the fourth for USA duo Homa and Harman with the latter making a 22-foot putt.

CANADIAN DUO GET ANOTHER SPIN

Connors and Hughes have been put again in foursomes with Hughes firing his approach in close on the first to just three foot. Burns has replied with an approach to 8ft 6ins and the opening hole is halved in birdies.

BOX OFFICE MATCH AS Tom Kim and Si Woo take on Cantlay and Schauffele

You can't call this next game surely with Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim taking on Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele. Their match is underway with both pairings in the left rough.

USA TAKE THE LEAD IN THE OPENING GAME

Harman's putter appears dialled in today with USA making a third birdie in five holes to go one up. Homa put his tee shot at the par 3 fifth to 10 feet where Harman slotted it.

GREAT PUTTS FROM HUGHES AND CONNORS

Fine start by the Canadians who birdie the third as well as the second to go two up on Morikawa and Burns. He and Connors are -3 for three holes.

cantlay finds the green at the par fourth third

USA are in the box seat at the third where they are on the green and get a par while the Internationals are making a mess of it. Cantlay and Schauffle move two up.

PENDRITH IN CLOSE ON THE EIGHTH

The Internationals are looking to level the match on the par 4 eighth where Pendrith is in close and Homa has put his approach to the back of the green.

MORIKAWA AND BURNS PULL A HOLE BACK ON THE PAR 3 FIFTH

The Canadian charge has been hit by a dropped shot on the fifth as USA get up and down from the sand to win the hole. The Internationals are now just one up.

top man is proving a see-saw affair as Internationals go back ahead

The first match out of Scott and Pendrith against Homa and Harman are speeding around and are on the ninth already where the Internationals just made their fourth birdie to go back infront after Pendrith's clutch putt. Pendrith struggled this morning but seems on it again.

CANADIAN DUO ON THE BACK FOOT ON PAR 5 SIXTH

After losing the fifth, Connors and Hughes are battling to keep their one up lead on the sixth. They have played three shots and are still not on the green. Morikawa meanwhile has splashed out stiff for a birdie. The Canadians need a slam dunk chip for a halve as Connors effort comes up short. This match is tied.

MORIKAWA AND BURNS JUST WIN THREE ON THE SPIN

USA are on a roll with Morikawa and Burns just winning three holes in a row to go one up on the seventh. Burns birdie putt on the seventh saw the American hold his hands to his ears as he bid to silence the home crowd roaring on Canadian duo Hughes and Connors.

MATSUYAMA AND IM GOING STRONG AGAINST SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY

Impressive stuff from the Internationals with Matsuyama and Im two up after four holes after Scheffler lipped out from close range. Scheffler might be struggling with fatigue as his golf doesn't seem on it today.

ROUGH LIE FOR INTERNATIONALS ON THE SIXTH

Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim are two down against Schauffele and Cantlay and have just lost the sixth after a shocking lie.

Scheffler's struggles have continued on the par 3 fifth

Scheffler is on the odd numbers today in the foursomes but his distance control is definitely off today. His iron into the 217-yard par 3 fifth finished 50 feet away before USA then three-putted to lose to a par against Matsuyama and Im.

MORIKAWA AND BURNS ON A ROLL

Momentum is so crucial in foursomes. Morikawa and Burns were two down after three holes to Connors and Hughes but USA have just reeled off four straight holes to go two up.

TOM KIM UNHAPPY WITH CANTLAY AND SCHAUFFELE

Si Woo Kim has just had to putt from 2ft 7in for a halve on the par 3 seventh and partner Tom Kim felt it should have been given by Cantlay and Schauffele. Kim has just laid his putter down to show how short it was.

scheffler comes out fighting on the seventh

The Internationals remain three up after a miraculous birdie to escape with a halve at the seventh. But Scheffler has then rammed an iron in close at the par 3 seventh as he bids to make in roads into the deficit. Henley converts it and USA are two down now.

INTERNATIONALS IN GOOD SHAPE ON THE 13TH

Scott and Pendrith are two up after 12 holes and are in good shape on the par 3 13th with Homa putting Harman in the greenside bunker while the Internationals are eight feet away. Scott misses his putt and USA escape with a half.

TOM KIM DROPS A BIG PUTT AND CELEBRATES

SUNGJAE IM CHIPPED IN EARLIER AND HAS NOW HOLED A DECENT PUTT

Scheffler just made a decent putt on the ninth green to avoid going three down in the final match to Matsuyama and Im, who himself holed from 21 feet before the world No.1 also made birdie. The Internationals remain two up.

more drama for Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim against USA

The Kims have just made successive birdies against Cantlay and Schauffele to take their match to level after being two down.

SCHEFFLER'S APPROACH TO PAR 4 10TH COMES UP SHORT

Scheffler's approach to the par 4 10th comes up way short from 174 yards which misses on the left and is 61 feet away. Im's approach has made the green but it is a long putt.

HOPE FOR USA IN THE FIRST FOURSOMES GAME OUT

Adam Scott has just missed a short putt on the par 4 15th which has let Homa and Harman back into the contest.

HUGHES DELIGHTS THE HOME FANS BY CHIPPING IN FOR EAGLE FROM THE SAND

Canadian Hughes has just holed his bunker shot at the par 5 12th for eagle as he punches the air and celebrates. That makes their match with Morikawa and Burns all square again.

CANTLAY AND SCHAUFFELE AGAINST THE KIMS IS A CRACKER

Si Woo Kim's clutch par putt on the 11th looked like winning the hole for the Internationals but ice-cold Cantlay duly then rolled in his 15-footer for a half and the match remains all-square with seven holes left.

HOMA COMES UP TRIUMPS ON THE PAR 3 17TH

Homa and Harman are two down with two to play but have a chance of winning the par 3 17th after a fine shot by Homa to 3ft 7in after Pendrith missed the green on the left. Partner Harman makes it and Pendrith is now 0/3 attempts at this short par 3 which is 158 yards.

MORIKAWA IN CLOSE AT THE PAR FOUR 14TH

Morikawa and Burns' match with the Canadian duo of Connors and Hughes is all square but Morikawa is in close at the 14th from 138 yards. Burns converts and USA are back infront.

Scott sends a decent drive up the last where just needs a half

Adam Scott has ripped his drive up the last while USA are in the rough. The Internationals just need a half at the last to win their point against Harman and Homa.

USA HAVE A BAD LIE AT THE 18TH

The Internationals need just a half at the last for their first point of the foursomes. Pendrith failed to find the green while Harman meanwhile has been put in deep rough by partner Homa.

Pendrith will have a putt for the match on the 18th

Scott's chip from the rough isn't great but Pendrith will have a putt for the match on the 18th. Homa meanwhile must hole from 16 feet but he misses and the Internationals have two putts from eight feet leading to a concession. Internationals win two up.

Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith react to their win

Scott said: "Hopefully it is going to be close going into tomorrow and we will have a big day."

Cantlay and Schauffele are one up against Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim but Schauffele's approach to the 14th comes up 44 feet short. And then Tom Kim fires his approach to six feet from 133 yards as they bid to strike back.

SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY IN BIG BATTLE IN THEIR FINAL GAME

This match between Scheffler and Henley and Matsuyama and Im remains very tight. It is all square with five holes left after Im made a gutsy 18-footer for par on the par 3 13th.

CONNORS CLOSER THAN MORIKAWA ON THE 17TH

After a fine 11 foot putt from Hughes at the last to win the hole, Connors has put his tee shot on the 17th in close. Morikawa's shot for USA is 33 foot away with the match remaining tied. Hughes' birdie putt slides by but he makes par as does Morikawa as the match remains a tie.

SCHEFFLER COMING GOOD IN CLOSING STAGES

Scheffler has helped his partnership with Henley to two birdies in three holes and he has hit a fine drive up with 15th while Im has found the water.

WHAT A PUTT FROM SCHAUFFELE

Fist pumps from Schauffele and Cantlay after Schauffele made a fantastic left to right  putt from 33feet on the par 4 15th. It is enough to win the hole for USA who are one up with three to play in this match before Cantlay's drive at the next nearly goes in the water.

ANOTHER EXCITING FINISH ON THE 18TH

Canadian duo Connors and Hughes are just off the green and will need an up and down to get at least half a point in their all square match against Morikawa and Sam Burns, who are on the green 25 foot away.

HUGHES' POOR CHIP LEAVES USA TO CLINCH VICTORY

Hughes' who is known for his short game has chunked a chip short and Connors has missed the putt. They have bogeyed the last and now Burns has a short uphill par putt for the match which he makes.

Si Woo Kim WITH AN AMAZING CHIP IN ON THE 16TH to put hole to bed

The Kims are now tied with Cantlay and Schauffele with two holes left after Si Woo holed from a crazy uphill green side lie to stun USA who were in the box seat to win the hole. They are now all square again.

SCHEFFLER AND HENLEY LOOKING GOOD AGAINST MATSUYAMA AND IM

Successive birdies for USA on the 14th and 15th have put Scheffler and Henley on the brink of victory. Matsuyama's putt from the back of the green leaves Im with plenty to do and he misses the par effort leaving Scheffler a short putt for victory which he drops.

SCHEFFLER REFLECTS ON COMING BACK FROM THREE DOWN TO WIN 3&2

Scheffler, who partnered Russell Henley against Matsuyama and Im, said: "I have to give a ton of credit to Russ because I don't think he missed a single shot today. I am proud to be out there with him."

CAntlay booms huge drive up the last

Cantlay has carried the water at the last with a huge drive as he and Schauffele bid to finally shake off Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim, who are in the sand off the tee.

GREAT SHOT FROM THE SAND BY TOM KIM ON TO THE GREEN

Brilliant shot from Tom Kim from 158 yards in the sand to 16 foot at the 18th. Schauffele then rips a wedge into the green but it spins back to a similar distance. The Internationals cannot afford to lose this game ahead of tomorrow's singles.

WHAT A PUTT FROM CANTLAY, WOW

Cantlay comes up clutch to complete a birdie at the last. What a player he is in matchplay especially. Si Woo Kim must make a similar length 16-foot to halve the match. But his effort slides by and US lead 11-7. Schauffele assessed: "Both the Kims played unbelievably well and they stuck it to us on a lot of holes, and we were just happy to get away with a 1-up."

TOM KIM HAS TOLD THE PRESS AFTERWARDS SOME OF THE US PLAYERS WERE SWEARING AT THE INTERNATIONALS

Kim said: "As it got towards the end, it got a little feisty out there. I could hear some players cursing at us. That part wasn't really - I don't think there was good sportsmanship there. But it's all part of the fun. I understand it." Si Woo Kim rattled USA when he chipped in on the 16th to put the hole to bed as he celebrated but Cantlay had the final say.

TOM KIM - WE HEARD 'CURSING' AT US

History does not favour the International side

This has been an entertaining record-breaking Presidents Cup. If the International side are to win, at least one more record will have to fall as the largest comeback to win the Presidents Cup entering singles was by the USA in 2019 when overturned a 2pt deficit. Entering the singles 8-10, they finished 16-14.

But in the 2012 Ryder Cup there have been bigger comebacks. Europe came back from being 6-10 down after two days, to win 14.5–13.5 in a match dubbed the Miracle at Medinah. In 1999, the USA overturned a 6-10 deficit Brookline to win that Ryder Cup 14.5-13.5

Speaking of Medinah…

The next Presidents Cup will be held at Medinah. The Illinois country club will thus become the fifth different US venue to host the Presidents Cup. As well as hosting that Ryder Cup in 2012, it has also held two PGA Championships, and three U.S. Opens.

No extra holes

If a singles match today is level after 18 holes then it is halved. It was not always thus in the Presidents Cup.

From 2005 to 2013 a rule existed that if neither side had yet reached the points total required to win, singles matches ending level at the end of 18 holes continued to extra holes until there was a winner in thar singles match. But once a team had won the Cup, any remaining singles matches level after 18 holes were halved. Although this rule existed for five Presidents Cups, no matches ever actually went beyond 18 holes.

Elsewhere in the golfing world

Open de España on the DP World Tour has gone to a sudden death play off: Ángel Hidalgo versus Jon Rahm.

We're underway on day 4

Xander Schauffele went first and missed the fairway. Jason Day, who was sat down from both yesterday's sessions, hit his drive down the middle.

How the players have to adjust to singles

Justin Rose on the UK television coverage has been explaining the different feel to the final day: "I think everything changes in singles. Obviously the whole week been about camaraderie and teamwork and arms on each others' shoulders and Sunday does feel lonely out there. You know suddenly the captain and the vice captains they're spread thinly; the crowd that had been condensed to a few matches are now dispersed all over the golf course- so the vibe on the final day's markedly different."

Schauffele and Day halve the 1st in 3

Schauffele finds the green from the rough and one putts for a birdie. But Day then rolls in his birdie putt, too.

Match 2 underway

Burns finds the light rough. Tom Kim finds the fairway to huge cheers. This is unlikely to be a quiet game.

First blood to Burns In Match 2

His approach of 122 yards from the light rough set up a good birdie chance which he takes. Kim had been not much further away, albeit just off the green, but could not make his birdie.

Angel Hidalgo has won Open De Espana play off

The unheralded 26-year-old Spaniard has overcome the LIV golfing superstar.

On subject of LIV players: the Presidents Cup was founded, and is run by, the PGA Tour. Competitors have to be qualified to play on the PGA Tour. The USA side have to be members of the PGA Tour and the International players must be eligible to compete in PGA Tour-sanctioned competitions. As LIV golfers are banned from the PGA Tour, they cannot compete in the Presidents Cup.

However the Ryder Cup is different as the PGA of America run that from the US end, and the PGA of America announced last week that LIV players will be eligible for selection for the US team in next year’s Ryder Cup.

To represent Europe in a Ryder Cup, a player has to be a member of the DP World Tour. Some LIV golfers resigned their membership, but others, such as Rahm and Hatton, have kept theirs so remain eligible so long as they meet various other criteria, such as playing in a minimum of four DP World Tour events in the season.

Scheffler chips in from greenside bunker on 1

That secures him a birdie and then a win when Matsuyama cannot make his birdie putt.

Back-to-back birdies for Scheffler

But Matsuyama matches it. Scheffler remains 1up going to the 3rd tee. The World No, 1 has gone 3-1-0 so far this week.

That bunker shot by Scheffler

Next Chairman

The pattern has been for the serving president or prime minister of the host nation to be the honorary chairman of the Presidents Cup. The exceptions were the first two Presidents Cups, in 1994 and 1996, where the chairman was a former president - Gerald Ford and George HW Bush respectively.

The next Presidents Cup is in the USA in September 2026. If Donald Trump is President then, then he will continue the line of US Presidents being golfers. But if Kamala Harris is President she would become the first Honorary Chairman of a Presidents Cup in the US not to be a golfer.

First lady

Talking of first ladies, well sort of..  Royal Montreal GC was founded in 1873 and the club history’s claims that “first female member to join any golf club in North America, Mrs. William Wallace Watson (née Florence Stancliffe) was admitted in 1891.”

Scheffler plays a shot left handed

His ball was right up against a tree on the 4th. He makes good contact, Too good, a and the ball goes through the fairway into the thick rough.

Matsuyama lets Scheffler off the hook

Scottie can only make bogey on the 4th, but the Japanese golfer misses a relatively short par putt. Hole halved. You cannot let those opportunities slip when playing The World No. 1.

In all today's singles matches the US player has the lower world ranking

This is the only the second time this happened in the Presidents Cup. This underlines the tough task the Internationals have if they are to overcome this four-shot deficit. The Internationals are down in five, tied in one, in the matches that have gone out on the course.

US OFF TO FLYING START

So far today, the Americans have played 30 holes in singles play.

They've birdied 15 of them.

Of the six matches to get past the first hole, they lead in five.

SCHAUFFELE MOVES TO 4UP

It's five birdies in eight holes for Xander as he takes a 4up lead over Jason Day via a mid-range birdie putt dropping on the 8th green.

SUNGJAE IM HITS THE GANGNAM STYLE DANCE TO KEEP SPIRITS HIGH

It's becoming his signature dance, with Im giving full beans to his gangnam style dance on the first tee.

INTERNATIONALS HAVE LED FOR JUST ONE HOLE TODAY

Jason Day birdied the opening hole to take a 1up lead over Xander Schauffele earlier today - but that's been the only hole the internationals have led all day so far.

They're down in six of the eight matches.

MATSUYAMA BIRDIES THE 7TH TO TIE MATCH AGAINST SCHEFFLER

The world no.1 doesn't concede a short birdie putt for the win for Matsuyama.

Hideki makes no mistake with the shortie to take a bit of red off the scoreboard and bring the match back to all square.

MIN WOO LEE TAKES THE LEAD OVER WYNDHAM CLARK

We have gold on the board!

Min Woo Lee, who hasn't played since Thursday morning, birdies the first two holes to take a 1up lead over Wyndham Clark.

SCHAUFFELE MOVES TO 5UP

Get off the track, the train is coming through.

The Xander express passes the turn with a 5up lead over Jason Day...

MATSUYAMA TAKES THE LEAD OVER SCHEFFLER

He lost the opening hole, but Matsuyama has mounted a comeback against the reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler.

He jumps to a 1up lead as they make their way to the 9th tee.

That's now two splashes of gold on the leaderboard for the Internationals.

AN WINS THE SECOND HOLE TO TIE HIS MATCH AGAINST THEEGALA

A nice five minute period here for the hosts.

Theegala loses the second hole to move back to all square against An after two holes.

Pendrith then steals a hole back from Cantlay's 2up lead on the 6th.

Further back, Min Woo Lee extends his lead to 2up against Wyndham Clark on the 3rd!

CANTLAY AND SCHEFFLER RESPOND

The mini US charge is ended by Cantlay's birdie on the 7th to restore his 2up advantage over Pendrith.

Matsuyama misses a putt for the halve on the 9th as Scheffler gets the match back to all square as they head to the back nine.

BEZUIDENHOUT TAKES EARLY LEAD OVER HARMAN

Bezuidenhout has made the ideal start against Brian Harman who, off all the Americans, has struggled with his game this week.

'Bez' is 1up after the first hole.

SCOTT STEALS THE LEAD OVER MORIKAWA

Adam Scott takes the lead over Collin Morikawa after the second hole, dropping in a nice birdie putt.

The Internationals now lead in four matches, but lead only 1up in all four of those matches.

The US still have the advantage in five.

HOMA HOLES OUT FOR EAGLE ON THE FIRST!

What a shot from Max Homa!

He fires a wedge at the flag from 100 yards. It lands 6ft behind the hole before spinning back into the heart of the cup.

The perfect start for Homa - he leads 1up.

FINAU DRIVES OUT OF BOUNDS AS CONNERS TIES THE MATCH

There is an out of bounds fence the entire way up one side of the 6th hole - Finau sent his tee shot into it.

He makes bogey and concedes the hole to Conners who had a putt for birdie. The match is tied!

EAGLE FOR JASON DAY!

With Xander in for birdie on the 12th, Jason Day is left with a difficult mid-range bunker shot with his third shot on the Par 5.

He drains it!

An amazing shot for the Aussie but he'll need a miracle to turn that match around - he's 4 down with six to play.

CONNERS STEALS THE LEAD FROM FINAU

It's back-to-back bogeys for Finau which gifts Corey Conners two wins in a row.

The Canadian moves to 1up on home turf.

INTERNATIONALS NOW LEAD FIVE MATCHES AS MATSUYAMA TAKES 1UP LEAD OVER SCHEFFLER

This match has yo-yo'd about but Matsuyama drains a 20ft putt for the victory on the 11th.

The win now means the Internationals are up in five matches - the same number as the US.

A comeback, perhaps??

INTERNATIONALS NOW LEAD IN SIX MATCHES!

Si Woo Kim makes birdie on the 9th to take a 1up over Keegan Bradley and suddenly the Internationals have the lead in the session.

We have a long way to go but the hosts are putting up a fight!

VICE-CAPTAIN KISNER TO CELEBRATE HOMA HOLE OUT BY TAKING TOP OFF

Kisner wrote on Twitter that he would celebrate like the American caddies at the Solheim Cup, by taking his shirt off, if Homa held out this week in Canada.

This was his reaction when Smylie Kaufman pressed him on his promise!

MATSUYAMA DUFFS CHIP ON 11, LOSES LEAD AGAINST SCHEFFLER

Scheffler birdied the Par 5, forcing Hideki to get up and down from the side of the green with wedge in hand.

Matsuyama hits a terrible chip and needed a 20ft putt for the half which slides by.

Those two are level once again.

XANDER SCHAUFFELE DEFEATS JASON DAY

Its a 4&3 victory for Schauffele over Jason Day in the opening match of the singles.

It was domination from start to finish from the reigning Open champion who helps extend the US lead to 12-7.

SCHEFFLER AND BRADLEY TAKE NARROW LEADS AS US CLOSE IN ON VICTORY

Bradley wins the 11th hole to take the lead over Si Woo Kim moments after Scheffler retakes a 1 up lead over Matsuyama a few holes ahead.

It's now looking really ominous for the Internationals.

UNITED STATES LEAD FIRST FIVE MATCHES ON THE COURSE

Following Schauffele's victory, the next five matches are all red.

Burns, Scheffler, Henley, Cantlay and Bradley all hold narrow 1 up leads, but if it stays the same the United States could secure victory within the next hour or so.

MATSUYAMA BIRDIES 14, TIES SCHEFFLER

This is a great match.

Hideki drains a 14ft birdie putt to level the match against Scottie in a back-and-forth battle.

KIM TIES HIS MATCH WITH SAM BURNS!

What a putt from Tom Kim.

Sam Burns' lead is gone as Kim drains a 16ft birdie putt on 15.

They're all square with three holes remaining in a match Burns has led almost all day. Kim then fires his approach in close at the 16th but has to settle for a half.

SCHEFFLER IN TROUBLE AGAINST MATSUYAMA

Scheffler is now one down against Matsuyama who has just won the 15th after putting his second to 11 inches.

TOM KIM STIFFS HIS TEE SHOT AT THE PAR 3 17TH

Tom Kim missed a short birdie putt on the 16th after a fine approach but has then thrown a dart into the 17th to a pin back right with water nearby. Yet great class and character from Burns to respond in similar fashion. Kim is 2ft 11in away while Burns is 3ft 10 inches away. Both men make birdies and are going up the last. Burns is the only player undefeated this week and you can see why.

CANTLAY SET TO HIT THE FRONT ON THE 14TH

Pendrith missed the green at the par 4 14th as Cantlay took advantage with a birdie after a good wedge in close.

scheffler back level with two holes left

Matsuyama has had seven birdies today but is now tied with world No.1 Scheffler after the Japanese pro couldn't match his opponent's par on the 16th.

KIM TO PLAY FIRST INTO THE 18TH GREEN AGAINST BURNS

Kim has just produced a superb 5iron from 181 yards to 14 feet. Burns has then had to play in from 157 yards and is 33 feet away in a bad lie on the fringe. All square but Kim is the favourite here now and is set to have a putt for the match after Burns chips up close and will make par.

MORE QUALITY FROM MATSUYAMA ON THE 17TH

After Scheffler hit the 17th but came up short , Matsuyama fired his tee shot in to 5ft 6in inches. Scheffler's downhill putt flies 7feet past and it is the American to put again now as he holes it and then concedes Matsuyama's who is now 1up.

TOM KIM'S 16 FOOT birdie putt for the hole slides by

Kim's battle with Burns has ended all square after a brilliant match. It is remarkably the first tied match of the entire week! USA are now just 3 points away. Burns reflected: "The majority of the people here are not rooting for us but we tried to use it as fuel." Kim said: "I started a bit slow and was playing really bad on the front nine but I played really hard and am proud of myself."

SCHEFFLER FIRES IN HIS APPROACH CLOSE ON THE 18TH

Scheffler who is 1down going up the last, has put his approach to 11foot on the last with Matsuyama 37 feet away. Can the world No.1 snatch a half here with USA only needing three more points.

Scheffler has lost to Matsuyama on the 18th after missing a birdie putt leaving Matsuyama a short par putt for the match which he converts.  Matsuyama said: "The last putt I was super nervous and my hands were shaking but I was really happy to win this match."

CANTLAY IS GUARANTEED A HALF AS IS TWO UP WITH TWO TO PLAY

Cantlay's par on the par 4 16th means he is two up with two to play and is guaranteed a half against Pendrith before clinching a 3&1 win. USA now just need one more point.

Cantlay reflects on victory and likelihood of Bradley winning the cup

Cantlay said: "It is great to have team-mates and have the best players in the world on our team. I am looking forward to seeing Keegan closing it out." Bradley is two up with two to play against Si Woo Kim, who is in close on the 17th after winning the 16th when his opponent missed a short putt.

KEEGAN BRADLEY ON THE 17TH WITH A PUTT FOR THE CUP

US Ryder Cup captain Bradley, who is two up with two to play, has just seen a short range birdie putt on the 17th slide by. It could have won the Cup for USA but now Si Woo Kim has a shorter birdie putt of his own to take this match up the 18th which he does.

SI WOO KIM AND BRADLEY BOTH HIT THE 18TH FAIRWAY

This match will confirm victory for USA if Bradley can get at least a half. But Si Woo Kim has won the last two holes when Bradley has missed two short putts and is in closer.  Kim's putt slips by on the slow side and USA are keeping the cup.

BRADLEY REFLECTS ON HIS WIN WHICH SEALED THE CUP FOR USA

Bradley said: "That was incredible. I didn't know I would get to do this again. If this is my last round as a player, I am happy with that. I am proud of the team and being here. I learned I can still do this." Bradley, who USA's Ryder Cup captain next year, added he plans to copy a lot of Jim Furyk's methods next year and said he hopes many of the 12 will be on the team.

USA HAVE STARTED THE CELEBRATIONS

USA celebrations have started with Xander Schauffele lighting up a cigar as soon as victory was confirmed. This USA team - aside from the Friday fourballs -have looked very strong and put the Internationals to the sword amid some questionable team-selections by Internationals captain Mike Weir.

MIN WOO LEE REFLECTS ON INTERNATIONAL CAPTAIN BENCHING HIM

Lee said: "Of course you want to contribute as much and I wanted to play everyday but the boys were playing really good. You can get a little upset about it but you are team. The boys played amazing on Friday and were playing great golf. Why wouldn't you play those guys."

ADAM SCOTT STILL BATTLING AWAY ON 17TH

Adam Scott is in close on the 17th but Collin Morikawa is two up and will have a putt for the match from 10ft 2in. They both win and Morikawa gets it done - 2&1 - as USA celebrations continue.

THEEGALA AND Byeong Hun An HALVE UP THE 18TH

Theegala has missed a short putt to win the match on the 18th and he has halved with Byeong Hun An despite being two up at the turn

MIKE WEIR, THE INTERNATIONALS CAPTAIN, REFLECTS ON DEFEAT

Weir said: "It was an incredible experience. The whole staff and players had an incredible family vibe and the crowds were so supportive. A lot of these matches were so close and it is disappointing not to get a win. Of course you are going to look in the mirror and see what you could have done differently."

Christiaan Bezuidenhout beats Brian Harman

Christiaan Bezuidenhout finishes as the only International player with a winning record (W2 L1) as he sees off Harman 2&1. The South African was one of only three Internationals players to win on the final day as the players who did 36 holes yesterday particularly suffered.

MAX HOMA wins the final match on the course

Homa finishes on the 17th green with a par to see off Mackenzie Hughes 2&1. He said: "I know a lot of people didn't think I should be on the team, but I think what I realised in the last week or so and especially being here is that the people that mattered did think I should be on the team."
