Presidents Cup Day 3 Pairings And Tee Times: Jim Furyk And Mike Weir Reveal Foursomes Pairings

Team USA and International size up their approach shots.

After an incredible Friday at the Presidents Cup that saw the International side claim a 5-0 win to square things up at 5-5, attention turned to Saturday, with the American team firing back in the morning four-balls.

The third session of the Presidents Cup saw a 90-minute delay due to fog and, when the players returned, it was the US side who gained the upper hand, as they secured three points out of a possible four in the morning session on Saturday.

In the first match, Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa won 2&1 over Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith, as the American pair of Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele then made it two from two following a 3&2 victory over the Canadian pair of Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes.

However, the International pair of Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim beat the American duo of Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Clark 4&3, as the overall score went to 7-6 with Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns 2-up on Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im as three holes remained.

Following a tie at the 16th, the International side had a great chance to move the scores to 1-down going down the 18th but, with Im's chip just missing the hole, Matsuyama failed to convert his birdie chance as the US side claimed a 2&1 win to make the scores 8-6 heading into the afternoon.

For the foursomes sessions, the International team have named an unchanged side, with all eight players from the four-balls featuring for the afternoon foursomes. That means Jason Day, Min Woo Lee, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Byeong Hun An won't feature at all on Saturday.

In terms of the US side, Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele will play all four sessions, as the quartet feature in the afternoon. What's more, Max Homa and Brian Harman, who were the most successful players in the 2023 US Ryder Cup side, have featured just twice in the 2024 Presidents Cup.
