Republican strategist Karl Rove has accused Donald Trump of making a “key mistake” during his recent State of the Union address. Rove believes the president missed the mark by not directly addressing the big concerns of disenchanted voters who are desperately looking for relief from financial hardship.
Per The Hill, Rove laid out his thoughts in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, explaining that for many Americans, especially those crucial swing voters, the president’s speech didn’t feel grounded in everyday reality. He pointed out that many people are feeling pretty pessimistic about the economy right now, what with fewer jobs in manufacturing and the looming threat of AI taking over the workforce.
