Vice President Kamala Harris is not scheduled to appear at the event, which coincides with the United Nations General Assembly.
During his appearance, Biden will underscore the differences between Democrats and Republicans on energy and climate issues, noting that Republicans unanimously opposed his climate bill. Despite this opposition, recent reports indicate that a significant portion of the investments from the climate bill have benefited Republican congressional districts, leading to job creation and economic growth.
Furthermore, Treasury Department data shows that millions of US households have taken advantage of the climate law by claiming tax credits to support the adoption of clean energy technologies such as solar panels, home batteries, and heat pumps.
Throughout his tenure, Biden has prioritized climate action, signing new clean energy tax credits and federal grants into law, while implementing regulations to reduce pollution from various sectors. He will be accompanied by key administration officials at Climate Week NYC, including national climate adviser Ali Zaidi, Energy Sec. Jennifer Granholm, and EPA administrator Michael Regan.
