Following President Biden's positive Covid-19 test result, his campaign has swiftly shifted to remote operations to ensure continuity and safety. The White House has confirmed that Biden, 81, is experiencing mild symptoms and has begun self-isolating at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
President Biden tested positive after attending an event in Las Vegas and was expected to speak at the UnidosUS annual conference. Despite his diagnosis, Biden has received his first dose of Paxlovid, a treatment for Covid-19, as recommended by his doctor.
Notably, this is not the first time President Biden has battled Covid-19. During previous instances, he relied on video calls to stay connected and manage his responsibilities. The White House has indicated that a similar approach will be taken during this period of isolation.
Although President Biden was initially seen without a mask after his diagnosis was announced, he has since been adhering to safety protocols by wearing a mask in public settings, including in the car and on Air Force One.
Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris is maintaining her schedule and is set to appear at a campaign event in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Thursday. The administration has affirmed that Harris will continue with her planned activities despite the President's diagnosis.
