White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced on Thursday that President Biden's decision not to seek re-election in 2024 was described as a 'selfless act.' Jean-Pierre shared these sentiments while relaying remarks from Biden that were delivered to the nation the previous evening.
During a press briefing, Jean-Pierre emphasized the rarity of such a decision in the political realm, stating, 'This is a selfless act, something that very few politicians would ever do.' She went on to praise President Biden's legacy, asserting that he will be remembered as one of the nation's greatest leaders, having achieved significant milestones in his term that surpass the accomplishments of many predecessors.
