A high-profile interview with President Joe Biden is set to air in its entirety as a primetime special on Friday evening at 8 p.m. ET, as announced by the network on Wednesday evening. This will mark the first televised interview the president is expected to participate in since his recent performance at the presidential debate.
The first clip of the interview will still be shown on 'World News Tonight' on Friday evening. President Biden will be interviewed by George Stephanopoulos on the campaign trail earlier in the day, with a transcript of the unedited interview also being made available on Friday.
Reports indicate that the president privately acknowledged the critical nature of the upcoming days, including his interview, in determining the fate of his reelection bid. He reportedly expressed an understanding that if the current situation persists, he may need to accept that 'It’s just not working.'
Initially, it was stated that parts of Stephanopoulos’ interview with Biden would air on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET on 'World News Tonight with David Muir.' The extended interview was planned to be broadcast on Sunday on 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos.'
Following the recent debate where Biden faced challenges in completing sentences and appeared disoriented at times while his opponent, former President Donald Trump, made false statements, concerns have been raised about Biden's age and ability to serve a second term.
