Liverpool sit top of the Premier League table heading into the last international break of the year.
Arne Slot’s side reclaimed top spot from Manchester City last time out and have now built up a five-point gap having seen the champions lose at Brighton before Aston Villa were beaten at Anfield.
Brighton moved into fourth with that result, pushing Chelsea and Arsenal into fifth and sixth, respectively, ahead of their meeting on Sunday.
At the other end of the table, Saturday’s action also saw West Ham were denied a much-needed win over Everton by a man-of-the-match performance from Jordan Pickford. Crystal Palace were thumped 2-0 at home to Fulham, while Brentford won a five-goal thriller against Bournemouth.
Sunday then sees Ruud van Nistelrooy take interim charge of Manchester United for the final time before Ruben Amorim arrives when they host Leicester at 2pm, while Tottenham host Ipswich at the same time.
The headline fixture of the weekend, however, comes at 4.30pm on Sunday when Chelsea host Arsenal.
