Premier League news as Leeds United's relegation rivals receive double injury boost

Here are your Premier League headlines on Tuesday, April 19.

Leeds United's relegation rivals receive double fitness boost

Everton have Yerry Mina and Donny Van De Beek back available for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Leicester at Goodison Park.

Defender Mina is fit after missing out since early February due to a quadriceps injury, while on-loan midfielder Van De Beek can be called upon again following a minor thigh issue and being ineligible for the 1-0 win over his parent club Manchester United last time out.

Nathan Patterson (ankle), Tom Davies (hamstring) and Andros Townsend (knee) continue with their recoveries. Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers expects to have the same squad available as he did for Sunday's dramatic 2-1 defeat at Newcastle.

Rodgers made eight changes at St James' Park in the wake of last Thursday night's 2-1 Europa Conference League win at PSV Eindhoven. Striker Jamie Vardy is still struggling with a knee injury, while Wilfred Ndidi, Danny Ward and Ryan Bertrand (all knee) are also out.

Everton unmoved by Burnley's Sean Dyche dismissal

Everton manager Frank Lampard says fellow relegation battlers Burnley's decision to sack Sean Dyche "doesn't affect" the Toffees.
Boss Dyche was axed last Friday by the Clarets, who subsequently drew 1-1 at West Ham on Sunday with Mike Jackson in caretaker charge.

With seven matches to play, Burnley are 18th in the Premier League, three points adrift of 17th-placed Everton, who have a game in hand. Lampard's side were beaten 3-2 at Turf Moor on April 6 then defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park three days later, before Burnley lost 2-0 at Norwich the next day in what proved the final game of Dyche's tenure.

Everton return to action by hosting Leicester on Wednesday - with the Clarets then entertaining Southampton 24 hours later - and, when asked at his pre-match press conference about Dyche's sacking, Lampard said: "Firstly, Sean Dyche has been an incredible manager of the club.

"I think that's been quite a universal reaction to it, but the club have decided to make a change, and Sean Dyche I'm sure deserves maybe a bit of a rest and then will get a fantastic job because of the level of manager he has shown himself to be. I wish Sean all the best going forward on that.

"In terms of what happens to Burnley, what it means in this period, nobody knows - you can probably go through history and find good reactions from changes, not so good reactions from changes.

"It doesn't affect Everton. I saw a quote this week saying we were let off the hook that it's happened. I don't see how. This doesn't change anything - Burnley are a good team and used to fighting to stay in the Premier League, and that fact will remain the same."

Pep Guardiola shuts down Haaland to Man City questions

Pep Guardiola has refused to comment on reports claiming Manchester City are closing in on a deal for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

It has been claimed City are poised to trigger the Norwegian's £63million release clause after agreeing personal terms, including weekly wages of £500,000 per week, with the 21-year-old's representatives.

City have long been linked with Haaland, who is one of the game's hottest properties, but manager Guardiola would not be drawn on the speculation. Speaking at a press conference, the City boss said: "No answer to your question."

Pushed further, he added: "No answer about these questions. I have another concern and business in my head right now (than) to think what will happen in this club next season."
