Here are the latest Premier League headlines on Thursday, 30 June 2022.
Johnson set to stay at Forest
Brennan Johnson is set to sign a new four-year-deal at Nottingham Forest with the two parties now very close to an agreement. That is according to the Athletic, who claim that positive discussions have been held in recent days with only minor details to iron out.
Johnson was set to enter the final 12 months of his deal at the City Ground and had interest from other Premier League sides such as Leeds United. The news will be a huge boost to Forest, after he netted 18 goals and provided 10 assists in last season’s promotion winning campaign.
Spurs close in on double deal
Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the signing of Everton forward Richarlison and Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet, according to the Athletic. Richarlison underwent a medical in Brazil today after the two sides agreed a deal in the region of £50 million.

Lenglet, meanwhile, is on the verge of completing a season-long-loan move from the Camp Nou after falling out of favour in Spain. The duo are set to become Spurs’ fourth and fifth signings of the summer following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma.
Chelsea in talks over double defensive deal
Chelsea are advancing in their negotiations to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, while talks are ongoing over a move for Manchester City’s Nathan Ake. That is according to the Telegraph, who claim that the Italian side have softened their demands over their Dutch defender as Chelsea are willing to allow one of Christian Pulisic or Timo Werner to move in the other direction.
City, though are said to be demanding a fee between £40 and £50 million for Ake, who has in the main been a fringe player since his move from Bournemouth. Chelsea are also set to agree a deal for Raheem Sterling, and are hoping to beat Barcelona to the signing of Raphinha.
