Premier League loophole allows Arsenal to accelerate Moises Caicedo transfer and two more deals

In just over a month's time, the summer transfer window will officially be open thus allowing Arsenal to reinforce where needed.

Being knocked out of the domestic cup competitions either side of the World Cup break, losing to Sporting CP in a Europa League last-16 tie, dropping points at a key time in the Premier League title race as well as injuries to William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu has ultimately exposed the limitations of the Gunners' first-team squad.

Therefore, it's no surprise that the north London outfit are being tipped to do a lot of business this summer. As expected, a number of players have been linked from Chelsea's Mason Mount and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi to versatile Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo.

With that said, one of the areas Arsenal look set to strengthen in is central midfield and football.london understands West Ham United captain Declan Rice is a priority signing whilst links to Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo are heating up once again following a failed January move.

Interestingly, amid an incentive for the Gunners to get their deals done early this summer, it's worth pointing out that the transfer window officially opens on Tuesday, June 13, as per FIFA's Transfer Window Calendar, and only signings made from Premier League, EFL and Scottish teams can be registered.

Therefore, if Arsenal, for example, were to agree a deal with West Ham for Rice - six days after a possible Europa Conference League final - they would be in a position to register him immediately and the same applies to potential deals for Caicedo, Mount, Cancelo and Guehi as they all ply their trade in the top flight of English football.

Alternatively, with Kieran Tierney being linked with a move to Newcastle United, that deal can officially be completed from June 13 onwards but Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles - two senior players likely depart this summer - can't be registered at a new club until after their Arsenal contracts expire on June 30.

Now for any deals - whether it be incomings or outgoings - involving French, Italian, German or Spanish teams that are in the pipeline after June 13, those moves can be agreed in principle but can't be officially completed until Saturday, July 1 when the international transfer window opens.

Although, it's rare for the Gunners, certainly since Mikel Arteta was appointed as manager/head coach, to sign players from Premier League clubs in the month of June as last summer saw Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko arrive from Manchester City after the international transfer window opened.
