Premier League confirm Leeds United v Chelsea referee amid Mike Dean and Anthony Taylor backlash

Chelsea supporters will breathe a sigh of relief after Stuart Attwell was appointed as referee for this weekend's game at Elland Road. Leeds United will host Thomas Tuchel's side this weekend without the German on the touchline after last weekend's controversy in Chelsea's game with Tottenham Hotspur.

Mike Dean has not been allocated a VAR game for the third week of fixtures, but Anthony Taylor will take charge of West Ham vs Brighton. The pair came under severe criticism for their decisions on Kai Havertz, Marc Cucurella and Richarlison - with three decisions going against Chelsea allowing Tottenham to grab a late equaliser.

The on-field decisions led to a bust-up on the sidelines between Antonio Conte and Tuchel, with the FA deeming the pair to have breached E3 of their code. Tuchel's anger later spilled over into his press conference.
