A man accused of murdering his wife who was pregnant with their child at the time, has been characterised as "abusive, violent and controlling" towards her, his trial heard.
Kashif Anwar is charged with the murder of 31-year-old Fawziyah Javed and causing the death of her unborn child at the Edinburgh landmark Arthur's Seat, The Daily Record reported.
Fawziyah received several blunt force trauma blows in the fall “from height”, the court heard, and died at the scene in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, Scotland, on September 2 2021.

Anwar, the husband, who denies all the charges, has been described as causing “malice and ill will towards her”.
The 29-year-old is also accused of acting in an abusive and threatening manner towards his wife the day before.
It was claimed that he was roaring at his wife in the Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in the capital’s Quartermile.
The jury was told that prosecutors may lead evidence showing that the man allegedly once put a pillow over his wife's face.
It may be alleged Anwar got into his wife’s bank account to wire £12,000 of her cash into his own account, and told her he would hurt her if she broke it off with him.
The court also heard that the couple began started dating in August 2019 and got engaged in July 2020. Their wedding in December of the same year was an Islamic one.
The jury, comprised in total of six men and nine women at the High Court in Edinburgh, heard that The Crown may be leading the trial.
The note they heard was that he allegedly carried out abusive behaviour to her between April 1 2020 and August 26 2021 at addresses in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
He allegedly stopped her from calling her friends, oversaw and tracked all her comings and goings, and did not permit her to use her own car.
Anwar allegedly blocked people on her phone, and insisted that she prove where she was at all times and show evidence of what she was wearing. He also allegedly said bad things to her family.
The Crown may lead alleged evidence Anwar struck Fawziyah on the head on Christmas Day 2020.
He allegedly fought with Fawziyah, which subsequently led to her fall to the ground, where she hit her head, knocking her out clod.
Anwar allegedly shouted and swore at Fawziyah in an address in Leeds on various occasions between April 29 and May 1 2021, in addition to allegedly making threatening remarks towards her and her family, saying he would ruin her, and saying he would put a location device in her car.
He also allegedly pushed Fawziyah, when she was pregnant, causing her to fall to the ground on an occasion in England between August 1 and 21 2021.
It is also alleged that he halted a car on a journey between Birmingham and Leeds on August 14 2021 at night and refused to provide Fawziyah with its keys.
He allegedly shouted and swore at her in Leeds General Infirmary on August 23 2021, threatening her.
Anwar allegedly repeatedly drove a car toward Fawziyah, followed her in the vehicle, repeatedly pushed her, and took her phone from her by force.
He also allegedly threatened that he wouldn’t allow her to divorce him or allow her to remarry, and threatened her with violence if she went to police, the trial heard.
Ms Javed's mother Nighat Yasmin Javed took to the witness box on Thursday.
She said her concerns had heightened since the couple married in December 2020, and Mrs Javed told the court she was "very worried" about her daughter.
She said: "I said if you feel that you are in danger, just text me 'I feel like cream cakes', and I will contact the police."
It is due to continue under Judge Lord Beckett.
