Kate Ferdinand has given an update after an intruder tried to break into her and husband Rio’s home.
On Monday’s episode of Lorraine, the host asked the pregnant former The Only Way Is Essex star, 31, how she and her family were doing after the terrifying ordeal.
“We’re all safe and well. Thanks for asking,” she replied.
Kate is stepmother to Rio’s three children Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and Tia, 11 - whose mother Rebecca died after a battle with cancer in 2015 - and the couple also have a son named Cree, two, together.
It was reported at the weekend that the retired England footballer player, 44, tackled an intruder in the back garden of their mansion in Bromley, Kent, while Kate and the children slept.
CCTV footage captured the suspected intruder trying the rear patio doors of the £4million home the night before, according to The Sun.
The man is then said to have stayed in the garden overnight before Rio confronted him and restrained him as he waited for police.
In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to a 70-year-old man detained by a private security guard having been found in the garden of a residential property.
"He was dealt with by a community resolution for ‘Being on Enclosed Premises for an Unlawful Purpose’, an offence under the Vagrancy Act."
Kate and Rio first announced that they were expecting another child together in January.
In March, they confirmed the gender of the baby is a girl.
It comes after Kate revealed last September that she suffered a devastating miscarriage in July.
