Michigan State basketball tips off the 2024-25 regular season on Monday night.
The Spartans welcome the Monmouth Hawks to the Breslin Center on Monday night to officially start the regular season. Michigan State has picked up a pair of exhibition victories during the preseason and is ready now to get the real games going.
Michigan State was picked to finish No. 5 in the Big Ten preseason poll, and enters the upcoming season with expectations of contending for the league crown. Monmouth was picked to finish No. 8 out of 14 teams in the CAA.
This will be the first game of the regular season for both Michigan State and Monmouth.

Monmouth will not be a pushover, but I anticipate Michigan State’s talent and defensive ability is too much in a relatively comfortable victory over the Hawks
