Efforts are being made by the State government to provide every tribal and Adivasi village with power supply, Special Chief Secretary, Environment & Forests, Santhi Kumari said, while addressing an inter-departmental video conference on Wednesday.
District level authorities including District Collectors, and officials from Electricity, Tribal Welfare, and Forest departments, participated in the conference, which discussed power supply to remote villages and pending works.
Over 3000 identified villages are being given three-phase power supply, and the remaining 239 villages will be provided the same in the coming month, after completion of pending works, Ms. Santhi Kumari said.
Officials from Electricity wing said 46 villages in Adilabad, 98 in Asifabad, 26 in Mancherial, 42 in Nirmal and 27 in Kothagudem districts are yet to get power from the grid.
The meeting discussed district-wise road blocks, forest permissions, and prevention of delay. PCCF (HOFF) R.M.Dobriyal said proper documentation could avoid delay. Secretary, Tribal Welfare, Christina Chongthu requested full inter-departmental cooperation in this aspect.
