A brand new Poundland store is set to open 'soon' at one of Bristol's retail parks. Based at Avonmeads Retail Park, just off St Philips Causeway, Poundland has confirmed that a new store will be opening very soon.
Although an opening date for the previously vacant unit in Avonmeads has not been announced, Poundland branding has appeared on the windows and entrance with the words 'coming soon' written on them.
It follows the opening of a brand new Lidl store just a few weeks ago in February at the retail park, which is also home to M&S Simply Food, The Range, Wilko, McDonald's, Boots and more.

In 2020, the discount retailer announced the closure of its store in the Avonmeads Retail Park. However, less than two years later, another Poundland store will return.
The vacant unit is next to Lidl, understood to have previously been filled either by Outfit or Currys. Planning documents have been submitted to change the signage at unit 4A, which used to be the address for Outfit.
Poundland has been approached for a comment to confirm the opening date. Avonmeads has not yet appeared as a branch on its store finder.
