A potential link between a shooting and a horrific Glasgow blade attack hasn't been ruled out, it's claimed.
Detectives appealed to the public for help after a man was gunned down in Baillieston shortly after midnight on Friday.
The 31-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the alarm was raised in Barony Drive and an attempted murder investigation is ongoing, the Daily Record reports.
The attack comes just days after locals claimed their community has been turned into a "warzone" when a man was repeatedly stabbed in the head in Milton on Sunday, January 9.
Police said inquiries into the stabbing are "still ongoing".

Detectives were yesterday attempting to establish whether the two incidents are connected.
A source said: "Attacks like this obviously don't happen by chance.
"The officers working on this investigation will be doing all they can to catch those responsible.
"They won't be ruling anything out unless they're 100 per cent."
Shocked neighbours said that the gunshot victim stumbled down the street and knocked on a neighbour's door for help.
He was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital before being transferred to the city's Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated.
Detective Inspector Andy Wright said: "Following inquiries, we are now able to confirm that this man was shot in the Barony Drive area shortly before he was found.
"We will have increased patrols there and I would like to reassure the local community that everything is being done to trace whoever is responsible."
