The Department of Posts has rolled out personalised cheque books for Post Office Savings Account (POSA) holders, aiming to boost customer convenience and improve security features.
Starting May 8, 2026, all POSA customers can access this new personalised cheque book service.
Previously, cheque books from post offices lacked the account holder’s details like their name or account number. With this new option, personalised cheque books will feature pre-printed information, including the account holder’s name, account number and the IFSC of the Department of Posts.
While private and PSU banks have been providing personalised cheque books with printed account details for several years, post office customers didn’t have this option till now. The new service also allows personalised cheque books to be delivered free of cost to a POSA customer’s registered address, whereas earlier cheque books were mainly issued at post office counters.
