Now that Frank Vogel’s coaching tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers is history, it’s time for the team to do its homework and hire the right man to lead LeBron James and company next season.
Coaching the Lakers is as high-profile a job as anyone can have in the NBA, and any time there is an opening, there is no shortage of possible candidates to fill the spot.
L.A. will likely want to hire someone who has some type of respectable experience as an NBA head coach, a reasonable amount of success at the minimum and experience coaching big-time superstars such as James and Anthony Davis.
According to reports, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka will conduct a “thorough and methodical” search.
