There were good starts for Shane Lowry, Seamus Power and Rory McIlroy at the PGA Memorial Tournament on Thursday, although it could have been better for the latter of the Irish trio.
Lowry is in a seven-way tie of third at Muirfield, two shots behind leader American Davis Riley, with England's Matt Wallace one stroke behind him in second.
The Offaly man made a brilliant start in in Dublin, Ohio, birdieing five consecutive holes from the 11th to 15th after beginning his round on the ninth hole.

But three bogeys in four holes on 16, 18 and 1 followed by a birdie on 2 saw Lowry finish his round on three-under, for an opening round 69.
Power is one shot behind Lowry in tied-10th after an opening 70, while McIlroy looked set to join Lowry on three-under before a triple bogey on the 18th leaves him tied-33rd.
Englishman Wallace, who has one PGA tour win, had a strong start to the tournament, hitting six birdies and two bogeys to finish the day with 68 and four under.
Fellow countryman Danny Willett was a stroke behind Wallace, finishing tied in third with Lowry and five others.
Willett, 35, who also has one PGA tour victory to his name, hit four birdies, an eagle and three bogeys to finish on three under par at Muirfield.
Leader Riley played the conditions well and is hoping to win his second PGA tour title, hitting just one bogey and six birdies to finish on five under.
World number one Scottie Scheffler had his highest opening round since October 2021, finishing on two over par and seven strokes behind the lead.
