Portugal star linked with Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham compared to Brazil legend Kaka

Premier League winner Nigel de Jong has likened Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham transfer target Joao Felix to Brazil legend Kaka after his performances in the World Cup for Portugal.

The Atletico Madrid forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League this season after finding himself surplus to requirements by Diego Simeone.

Recently, CEO Gil Martin admitted that the Spanish clubs will consider selling the 23-year-old after telling TVE: ""Joao Felix is the biggest bet the club has made this season, I think he has the highest level in the world but for reasons that are not worth entering now, the relationship between [Diego] Simeone and him is not good and his motivation is not the best."

Reports this week have claimed Atletico would prefer a deal to be struck with a Premier League club due to their financial pull, with the 2021 La Liga champions wanting £100million for the forward. But there remains plenty of interest from elsewhere with European giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all keen.

Felix has managed to put his troubles at the Metropolitano to the back of his mind in the last few weeks with his impact at the World Cup in Qatar. The forward supplied two assists in Portugal's 6-1 last 16 clash with Switzerland and scored a vital goal in their 3-2 group win over Ghana.

And whilst talking on ITV Sport, former Manchester City and Netherlands midfielder De Jong has praised Felix for his performances for A Selecao in the Middle East. "You know what, he reminds of Kaka," he said. "The way he plays. The way he picks players in. Between the lines. The runs he makes.

"It's so crucial for the passes that he made and the final passes. This link-up play was fantastic. Portugal have a bright future with these guys (Goncalo Ramos and Felix) up top."
