Staff at a Nottinghamshire bakery which produces savoury goods for national retailers are set to walk out in a dispute over pay. Workers at Riverside Bakery, part of the Addo Food Group, were balloted in February over whether to strike, and this strike is now set to go ahead on Monday, March 30.
More than 170 workers employed by the bakery, based in Crossgate Drive, Nottingham, will take action during a continuous all-out pay strike. Officials at Unite claim workers are being offered 'a pay cut disguised as a rise', and claims it would leave staff worse off by reducing overtime, bank holiday and premium rates.
Riverside Bakery produces quiches, flans and savoury tarts sold by major retailers including Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Marks and Spencer. The company's brands include Pork Farms and Wall's.
