Popyrin cruises to Dubai win, with de Minaur on horizon

Alexei Popyrin has completed his half of the deal in the prospective Dubai desert duel with Alex de Minaur.

The Australian No.2 dismissed Lebanese wildcard Hady Habib 6-2 6-4 in 65 minutes in the first round at the Dubai Open, setting him up to play the national No.1 in the second round, as long as de Minaur sees off Croatian veteran Marin Cilic on Tuesday.
