Chocolate lovers will soon be able to get their hands on a limited edition flavour of Yorkie chocolate bar. Yorkie Honeycomb is being sold for the first time in eight years.
Yorkie Honeycomb is made of the bar's signature solid chunks of milk chocolate intertwined with crunchy pieces of sweet honeycomb. But the bar will only be sold for a limited amount of time.
Michael Kehoe, brand executive for Nestlé Confectionery, said: “Yorkie fans are a passionate bunch, especially when it comes to honeycomb! We’ve had more requests for this bar than for any other flavour, so we’re chuffed to be bringing it back for 2023. It’s the creamy Yorkie milk chocolate you know and love, enlivened with honeycomb flavour and real pieces of crunchy honeycomb.”
The 42g bar of chocolate will be sold in stores around the country from May 8. Mr Kehoe added: “As a limited edition, it won’t be around for long, so get your hands on a bar while you can.”
Yorkie Honeycomb will be sold in Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Co-op, B&M, Home Bargains, Spar, NISA and Wholesale and Convenience stores.
Yorke was first made by Rowntree Macintosh in 1976 to allow the company to break into the solid chocolate bar market. Other names for the bar, such as "Jones" and "O'Hara", had been considered but the company landed on Yorkie to represent the city where the bar was made.
