- Victoria Wood's acclaimed sitcom Dinnerladies is set to return with a new stage adaptation, over 25 years after its television debut.
- This marks the first production commissioned by Wood's estate since her death in 2016.
- Veteran entertainer Les Dennis has been cast as maintenance man Stan, a role originally played by Duncan Preston.
- The new play, adapted by Beth and Emma Kilcoyne and directed by Sean Foley, is scheduled to premiere at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on 22 January 2027, with tickets going on sale this week.
- The Victoria Wood Estate said in a statement: “We hope that this new stage adaptation by Beth and Emma Kilcoyne and directed by Sean Foley – featuring a story inspired by the original TV series – will take theatre-goers across the UK straight back to the delights of the canteen and characters they grew to love."
