One of Ireland's most decorated amateur footballers is trading the top of the table for the medical table, setting up a brand new business in Mayo.
Ex-Westport United star Dave Cameron, who was a vital cog in the black and red machine's historic Junior FAI Cup win in 2005 where the midfielder scooped the Man of The Match award in the Final, has opened up a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy Clinic.
Working out of Carrowbaun since September 2022, West Revive has already seen a major spike in client numbers which is growing more and more as each week passes.
The Clinic specialises in treating people who have chronic and acute muscular injuries as well as joint pains and the everyday niggles that can sometimes hold someone back.
And just six months after it first opened its doors, West Revive is already taking huge steps into the next phase of the business, launching its bespoke natural pain relief product line which uses all natural ingredients with the products made locally in Westport.
The new business venture from Dave, who also won many league titles and a Connacht Cup during his junior soccer playing career, has also landed him back in the Westport United dressing room albeit in a new capacity ensuring the 'Covies' are getting top class recovery treatment.
Dave Cameron said: "It's been a strange but great experience being back in the United dressing room after all these years in an entirely new capacity from midfielder to massager. This is something I have been very passionate about even since my playing days and I'm so proud of what West Revive has achieved so far and excited for what is to come.
"I qualified as a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist in 2004. Sport has always played an important role in my life and I have encountered and treated many sports related injuries and clients suffering with chronic pain. Treatment is not limited to just sports injuries though. All forms of discomfort in movement or anatomical pain requiring massage therapy are catered for here in West Revive Therapy."
He added: "The Clinic's clients have been growing rapidly every week and I've been blown away and am so thankful by the support I have received from people around Westport and beyond. This town holds something special in my heart and I am delighted that West Revive's new natural pain relief product line will be incorporating locally made products that are produced just a stone's throw away from where the client is receiving treatment. We've had such a whirlwind first six months and I am excited to see what the rest of 2023 brings as well as everything that is to come in West Revive's future."
