Popular Indian restaurant near Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in West Bridgford closes - presenting 'rare opportunity'

An Indian restaurant popular with football and cricket fans has closed down.

Delhi Nights, on the doorstep of the City Ground and Trent Bridge, in West Bridgford, has been stripped out of furniture.

The previous owner left after failing to agree terms with the landlord.

The restaurant in Radcliffe Road also boasts an outdoor seating area and will be going onto the market soon in a bid to find a new tenant.

The restaurant, which also offered takeaway, described itself as the "world of luxurious dining".

Reviews were mixed, ranging from "stunning food" to "terrible".

But one satisfied customer, who left a five star review, said: "We came up to see the cricket and thought we'd grab a quick bite before the game because its so close to the stadium.

"Food was delicious. Service on point. We had the garlic chilli chicken, desi lamb and saag aloo side. Everything got mopped up."

Oliver Marshall, associate director with property consultants FHP, is anticipating a a high level of interest, describing it as a "rare West Bridgford restaurant opportunity" with the dining area, kitchen, toilets and storerooms in "great condition".

He said: "Very rarely to does a part-fitted restaurant opportunity come to market in West Bridgford.

"Although this isn't central West Bridgford, it's a very popular location because of the proximity to the town, roadside visibility and being also close to the City Ground and Trent Bridge.

"I think it will be a good opportunity particularly for more regional and independent operators as opposed to big national operators.

"We are about to get a board up there and will probably have the details live by Monday next week."
