A popular west Wales hotel rated 'excellent' on Tripadvisor has come under fire for 'ruining' its frontage with fake grass. In a tweet from earlier this week, one visitor to the St David's Cross Hotel in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, described the artificial lawn outside the property as "bonkers".
He added: "Beautiful hotel; beautiful town; beautiful area. So what to do? Ah! Lay a plastic lawn. Beautiful insult to nature."
The tweet has since been viewed more than 200,000 times and has received in excess of 2,500 likes. And those who've commented on the post also criticised the hotel's decision to lay plastic grass as opposed to retaining the real thing. However, staff at the St David's Cross Hotel said that the artificial lawn had been in place for several years and had previously attracted no complaints.
