Popular Edinburgh restaurant shares plans to become takeaway after 20 years

A popular Edinburgh restaurant has shared their plans to offer a new takeaway service after two decades in the industry.

One of Corstorphine's finest eateries, Fabio's submitted proposals to the council this week for a change of use from restaurant to hot food takeaway and delivery.

Occupying the site at 23 Glasgow Road for 20 years, the application would see a few changes made to the exterior of the building, including new signage and a rebuilt entranceway.

In addition, the site would officially change it's use to a takeaway and delivery service, with locals able to get the top-quality Italian dishes served to their front doors.

Managing to stay afloat during the pandemic, the family-run establishment is known for it's five star reviews, with many travelling across the city to dine there.

Speaking on TripAdvisor recently, one customer said: "We were out near the airport and looking for options. They managed to fit us in here, as I didn’t realise how busy it would be! It was absolutely full and we were lucky to get the table.

"The food was absolutely terrific. Had a pasta appetiser and the sea bass for a main, even the dessert was wonderful. They were exceedingly friendly, this is certainly a local spot and if you are in the area I would highly recommend it!"

With plans for the change of use now submitted, an official decision from the council is yet to be made.
