Popular Edinburgh pub that serves 'best Sunday roast' goes up for sale

A popular gastropub in Edinburgh has been put on the market much to the disappointment of locals.

Leith has quickly developed into a buzzing neighbourhood that is boasts an array of bars and eateries with one in particular being praised for serving 'the best Sunday roast'. However, Woodland Creatures on Leith Walk is up for sale.

With nine years left on the current lease, the go-to pub for bottomless mac and cheese is on the market for £80,000. Many will remember it as The Balfour Bar until it was significantly upgraded many years ago.

The advert on RightBiz, highlights that Leith Walk will soon have the trams running down the street and Woodland Creatures is near the east end of Princes Street, situated close to Easter Road, Pilrig and the Great Junction Street area of Leith - meaning a high level of footfall in the area.

The advert adds: "Leith Walk has undergone major transformation in the last few years with significant building of student housing, the conversion of the former derelict property at Elm Row into a Marriott Courtyard Hotel as well as the substantial development at the nearby St. James’ Quarter.

"The availability of Woodland Creatures represents a superb opportunity to acquire a very individual and stylish bar and restaurant with obvious trading potential. It is thought the business would be an ideal pub to be purchased by a family/partnership team or small/medium sized pub company."

Woodland Creatures is known for his cocktails, range of craft beers and other beverages, as well as a popular menu that they describe as 'Scottish soul food'.
